Perfect, right off of the exit, lots of restaurants around and no traffic noise!! Great breakfast in the morning and perfect overnight stop on the way to the beach! Comfortable beds, lit parking, friendly staff, clean beds, room.
On our first visit to this property, all of our preferences were honored. Upon arrival, the air conditioning was off. The temperature wasn't bad but the lack of air flow made the sour smell of the shower curtain liner permeate the room. An essential oil diffuser along with turning on the air remedied the smell in the main living area but not the bathroom. The room appeared clean. We found mattresses fully encased topped with a mattress cover/pad & then the sheet. We did hear some I-75 noise but it wasn't a problem. As with most hotel rooms, the bathroom & foyer lighting isn't sufficient. Bathroom storage/counter space would be fine if there was a storage shelf under the sink. Normally, we are not impressed with Holiday Inn Express breakfast options. However, this time they were the usual but better than the other Holiday Inn Express experiences we've had. Real oatmeal would be nice. All staff members that we encountered were pleasant and efficient. Between 10 and 11 p.m.one night, there was a group of three young people late teens to early 20's going from door to door knocking saying loudly enough to be heard in the rooms that they didn't know which room; we observed them from inside but ignored their knocks. There was no indication of impairment. Always be cautious.
We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express on our way back home to FL, we had evacuated Hurricane Irma. We had a nice room, the A/C unit was fairly quit and shut off when temp is reached. Not much traffic noise, yet it was close to I-75. Had a comfy King bed, there was a night light on the bedside phone, which we had to cover up, it was too bright for us, also had USB connections on bedside tables. The down side for us, was it at Down Pillows, which my husband and I have allergies too. Restaurants and shopping (Wal-mart) near by.
We evacuated from Florida and just spent 6 days at this hotel. The staff was amazing, especially Nikki and Amber who are part of their managing staff, and made us feel safe and cared for during this crazy stressful time. The cleaning staff and kitchen staff were amazing as well. We were so pleased with everything and wanted to say thank you for your hospitality! Great Job!
Pros: 1) Bedside charger for simultaneous charging of all your periphereals - Apple lightning, Samsung galaxy, etc 2) Soft jersey-cotton-like fresh sheets 3) Pantry in lobby with complimentary coffee and fruit infused water. 4) 24 hr fitness center with all working and well maintained machinery. 5) Nicely landscaped and updated grounds/stonework. Cons: 1) Road noise in room 424 was not unbearable, but noticeable. (Corner room facing I75) As you can see, the pros far outweigh the cons. Gorgeous pool, friendly and helpful staff at check in and for dinner reservations.
We stayed in a 2 queen suite which also has a pullout sofa, and is larger than most. Also provided was a hair dryer, keurig, microwave, and refrigerator. There is a self-laundry laundry but we did not use it. Our suite had a door separating the two areas but the person at the front desk mentioned to another guest that not all suites are set up this way. I didn't think about that when I booked but if this is important to you, maybe double-check as I may have misunderstood. Our room was very clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is quiet, though we stayed on a Sunday night so this may make a difference. The kids enjoyed the outdoor pool and didn't have any complaints. It seemed to be standard sized. We stayed on the 2nd of 4 floors. There is one elevator so I recommend using the stairs, if possible, for quick trips to the lobby or pool. The morning we stayed breakfast included pancakes, bacon, turkey sausage, veggie omelets, biscuits and gravy, eggs, cinnamon rolls, cereal, milk, juices, and pastries. Looking at the various crime data in nearby cities, along 75 this seemed like a safe spot and we felt safe the night we stayed. The staff at the hotel are very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
This was the warmest, most welcoming greeting we have ever had at any hotel. It was the Manager and I sure wish I could remember her name because she was truly a sweetheart! My husband asked if breakfast the next morning might be biscuits and gravy...his favorite. The manager went above and beyond to not only find out, but Nina, in charge of the breakfast told us the next morning that the manager had left her a note and asked her to have it if at all possible. Nina made it happen.. Wow! Nina kept the breakfast area well stocked and clean. The hotel was lovely, immaculately clean and the room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable with a good number of pillows but you did have to be a bit careful getting in and out of the bed because the metal side edge of the mattress was covered by only the sheet and hurt if you caught your leg on it the wrong way. We really liked the desk/TV/luggage shelf combo...very smartly done. We did not use any of the other facilities there so we can't comment on any of that. This is a very exceptional hotel! Thanks for a great stay!
Black out shades were awesome. Breakfast was pretty good. I don't like Styrofoam and plastic wrapped apples. There were some healthy options like an egg white omelette and turkey sausage. Our bedside lamp was broken but they took care of it.
I have stayed in Holiday Inn Express' all over this country and this particular puts them all to shame. Great staff, very friendly and willing to help with anything. Clean rooms, baths and grounds. The breakfast bar was awesome and the woman running it was super nice and helpful. The location should be the poster for all Holiday Inn Express'!!
Upon entering the hotel after 11pm we had to be buzzed in for security purposes, which made us feel good. Very cordial staff. Room was very clean! Lovely Modern decor. Phone charger in room was nice. Beds not as comfy as other HIE we've stayed in. My biggest complaint is the fragrant smell in the room. I figured out it was the bedding. No hotel should use fragrance in detergent. I have asthma and it was hard on my lungs to sleep in those sheets. No sense in changing rooms cause they would all be that way. Plan to advise the staff of my concern. Continental breakfast was served. Pricing was fine for a holiday weekend. and the lowest was thru IHG rewards.
