Please Read Entire Review Before Booking
As we (hubby and I) write this review, we notice that the pictures of the property have been updated, and are different than the pictures posted (that we relied upon) when we booked our stay.
Many of the disappointments in the property that we wanted to warn potential future tenants are now pictured, although, probably not easily identified by those eager to secure a rental. Therefore, our review is based on our experience.
There is no central Air Conditioning. This should be disclosed! When we checked in, it was HOT inside. There is a portable a/c unit by the entry door, and there is a window a/c unit in the master bedroom. We turned both on shortly after our arrival. The second bedroom had a floor fan, but no a/c. The first night we were there, our family sleeping in the second BR were miserably hot, all night. We had to leave the master BR door open (sacrificing our privacy) so we could "share" our window a/c with the rest of the house.
The smell of cat/pet urine is overwhelming. Every time we entered the property, the foul odor overtook us. We are cat and dog lovers (but did not bring any pets) but it was hard to get past the strong pet waste odors.
The dishwasher doesn't work. The sign on the dishwasher stating "Sorry...OUT OF ORDER" was not disclosed before we rented. This matters to us, because we normally do a lot of cooking and eating together as a family; but confronted with the prospect of hand washing dishes on “vacation” changed our plans.
Also not previously disclosed was a picture of a 2nd refrigerator crowding the kitchen, which essentially renders the table useless. There is no "eat in kitchen". There is simply not enough room to comfortably use the kitchen/dining table at all, much less sitting 4-6 people for a family meal together.
I could go on, but will wrap up with a minor rant: the master BR closet was apparently off limits to tenants (also not previously disclosed). There was a sign posted on the closet doors "Owner's CLOSET * DO NOT OPEN *". As ridiculous as that was, we respected the command, and did not use, or even open the closet. That leaves the tenants in the master BR with no place to hang clothes.
At the price point, and for the (lack of) features, we would not recommend this property to anyone. The owner was prompt in responding to our questions (there were no garbage bags in the property), but there is no level of civility that makes up for the property's lack of appeal.
