The Westin Playa Bonita Panama

the hotel was wonderful, nice pools and scenery. we are planning to see if we might have our wedding ceremony there. my girlfriend was pleased and satisfy.

Poor, Over-Priced food. Enjoyed the pools and great view.

Everything was beyond expectations. Restaurant options were amazing. Service was a little bit slow, even there were a lot of waiters/waitress

The food was good, but the snacks wasn't good. Needs to work in entertainment, doesn't have show.

Everything is going smoothly very friendly staff good food

This first thing I have to say this is NON refundable reservation also the fact we used Orbitz when booking they did not include breaskast, the hotel has beautiful views of the rainforest and the beach was nice. We only went to sleep due to the fact that had a change of plans and could not cancel the hotel

The hotel is in a remote area. Difficult to find transportation to the city unless one takes the hotel taxi. The beach is a mud puddle part of the day. The mud disappears with high tide only. Restaurants are mediocre. Hotel staff not well trained.

Very nice hotel, great food, great pools, the ocean not so good. the activities for children are ok.

My fiance and I stayed chose the Westin Playa Bonita for our stay in Panama after a friend had recommended the Intercontinental just down the beach. We chose Westin over her recommendation because of the larger selections of restaurants / pools. We were not disappointed. I will caveat that my review may be swayed by the fact that we had spent the night prior at the Gamboa Rainforest Resort to get another feel of the country. While gorgeous in nature, this hotel was a little less than luxurious and felt more similar to our stay in Nicaragua the year prior. So back to the Westin - the staff was overall very friendly, the food at the buffet and restaurant (we only tried the Asiana) was surprisingly tasty. We went during rainy season, so the hotel was not overly crowded, which made for an easy time grabbing a poolside cabana, quick poolside service, and easy access in scheduling a last-minute dinner reservation, couples massage, and taxi service at any time of day. The rooms are very nice (what you would expect from a Westin) and we were even upgraded to a higher view / better room upon our arrival. While the beach is more suited for a nice stroll (though expect to walk on a lot of sharp shells) then a swim, the water is warm and the location itself is very scenic for nice photos and to really get a beach side feel, even when you're lounging by the pool. While we spent about half of our time exploring the neighboring areas of Panama (Casca Viejo - HIGHLY recommended; Calle Uruguay; the Causeway), the hotel was a perfect central location where all of these spots were easily accessible with just a $25 cab ride / 15 min ride away). I also recommend negotiating with the cab drivers because they're a little more overpriced at the hotel - we found someone in town that offered to take us back to the hotel for $15 and you can also negotiate to get a private driver for as little as $50-$80 a day. All in all, we loved our stay in Panama and the Westin Playa Bonita was the perfect mix of relaxation, views, amenities, and proximity to other destinations that we had a perfect vacation.

Hotel is about 10 mi. from Center City Panama and on beach. $25-30 car ride each way to downtown. Facilities are new, clean, and well maintained. 4 pools and beach area (limited swinning due to coral) with bars and snack bars. 4 Restraurants were all good (asian, steak, tapas, and buffets). No restaurants near hotel. Staff speak limited Enlish but were so nice working with our limited Spanish to understand could not be nicer. The hotel store has limted snacks and NO sodas or alcohol which was the big minus in our view. We picked up things downtown on trips there. Get ocean view room.
