I am a gold member with Marriott and have been a rewards member for over 15 years. This hotel is one I will never return to. Why? Plain and simple, hotel lay out and parking is HORRIBLE! At the end of a long day you have to drive around trying to get a spot. If your not lucky enough to find one you have to park on the grass or on the street. People make their own parking spots wherever they can find a spot. Then if you find a spot on the opposite side of they building you have to walk a maze of hallways in order to find your section. Too much work and frustration trying to get to your room if you can't find a spot outside your hotel entrance. Especially late at night when they lock down the pool area and you can't cut across. Service and breakfast are good, just the layout is unsatisfactory.
I have stayed at this property in the past and it has been always a normal hotel experience until yesterday when we checked in. Alexis and Theresa were OUTSTANDING. They made me and my kids feel welcomed, they were courteous, and their customer service was impecable. When I checked out Meigan was amazing. She is just like Alexis and Theresa. I was overwhelmed with bags and suitcases and she did not hesitate to give me a hand to take things to my vehicle. I offered a tip and she declined. In the breakfast lounge I met Mrs. Alma Morales and Maria Molina. What a pleasant ladies. Even though they were Restocking the Buffett, cleaning tables and picking up after customers they were courteous and helpful. The room was clean, confortable, and spacious. What I would suggest to management is: Keep the good work! -The cosmetics of the structure visible in the pool area needs a little TLC. -Have an elevator dedicated to your staff. -keep those amazing employees happy. I will definitely be coming back and stay at your property very soon! Thank You! Gio
I called the hotel to notify I would be a late arrival. They assured me all was well. I arrived at 2 AM only to find no parking. Guests were parked in the street, on the median, on the grass, in the front, in short, all over the place. Seeing that there was nowhere to park, I called the hotel from the parking lot asking for suggestions. The representative named Aisha suggested I park on the street somewhere. I wonder if she would like to leave her brand new car on the street somewhere. Is the Residence Inn going to pay for my repairs if someone hits my vehicle? I had to park two hotels down the road. I went inside & begged the front desk manager at that hotel if I could park there. She gave me permission for the one night. It was a Hilton property, I should have stayed there! After walking for 20 minutes in the summer heat not to mention being bitten by several mosquitos as I dragged my suitcases to the front. I was greeted by the front desk agent. Who did nothing to remedy the parking situation. She gave me the worst room in the house right next to the elevator & next to the housekeeping closet. (In the morning's I heard the staff chatterbox, guests waiting for the elevator & the elevator itself. She offered no empathy for the parking situation). When I asked for a different room I was told they had none. Basically, she did not want to work that night. This is the first time I ever stay at a Marriott brand property that does not have adequate parking. After reading reviews on this site you will see it is a common issue here. Why they don’t improve this is beyond me. I asked if the room had bottled water, I was told they did not. But because of my Marriott Rewards elite status, she was going to give me water (Mind you I had to ask otherwise they would of not give it to me so save $$$ I guess). She gave me two small bottles, I asked if we could have more & explained one of us took a medication that makes the patient very thirsty. Considering we just circled for 45 minutes looking for parking & walked down the road two hotels down. You'd think an extra bottle of water would not have been an issue. But she refused, stating I am only entitled to get two bottles. I used my free market item to get a bottle of water. My brother that I was traveling with has a disability & really needed that water. To deny someone like that, especially given the circustances some extra water is shamefull! I finally got to the room which was nice & large. But sadly not very clean. I am traveling with my brother & he forgot his toothbrush. I used the phone to call downstairs, I was told they did not have any to send complimentarily. But they could send me one from the market & bill it to my room. Seems they conveniently "ran out" of the one they issue complimentary to force guests to buy one from the market. Such a cheap ploy, disgusting ! Especially when you consider I am an elite member of the Marriott Rewards Program & just spent 45 minutes looking for parking. You think they'd just send a toothbrush & call it a night. As I went to hang up the phone I noticed my hands were sticky. I had just washed them so this did not make sense. As I looked closely at the phone. I saw it was full of ear wax, dirt & grime. It looks to me like its never been cleaned. Don't believe me? Look at the picture attached to this review. Not only is the phone disgusting, it also lists the wrong room number. I am in room 208 (Yes I am writing live from the room) & the phone placard says room 329. But then again who cares? Certainly not the management at this hotel. As I was putting things away getting ready for bed. I start looking for the safe to place my valuables. Finally found it inside the closet, on the floor. Odd location if you ask me, to expect guests to literally kneel down on the floor in order to access the safe. As I was kneeling down & touch the safe trying ti open it & realize that it moves. I touch it again & it moves again. The safe was just sitting there, not attached to anything. Anyone could have picked up t he very lightweight safe & walked right out of the hotel with it. It was not bolted, attached, fixed to anything. A safe is supposed to be a “safe” place in which to leave your valuables. What's safe about this? When anyone can just pick up the safe & go. Needless to say, I did not use it! You think this hotel cares about the safety of your valuables ? Think again. I settled in & decided to check my e-mails before bed. By now its nearly 4 AM from the time I got to the hotel, waited over an hour with check in/parking situation & finally getting settled in my room. To my surprise, the internet was super slow. I'm talking 1G! Again, another common thread in the reviews of this place so at least I am not alone. Fortunately, my cell phone serves as a hotspot & I was able to use that to work on my laptop. The next morning when I went to shower the bathtub (which leaked all night with an annoying sound) was not draining properly. The sink was not draining properly either. Making it very uncomfortable to get ready in the morning not to mention the sanitation issues associated with poorly draining water. When I brought it to the hotel's attention they did fix it, but it should have never happened in the first place. Some things we can control, others we cannot. In the case of parking etc. Those are things that I understand are not within the control of the front desk agent. Doing the right thing however & doing what's right by a guest. Having respect for people, courtesy & a spirit of service. That is very much in the control of the staff. Yet they choose not to do it. This is not about a disgruntled guest that had to drive around looking for parking. This goes way beyond that & it’s really about respect for people, courtesy & humanity. Something that based on my experience here this hotel is severely lacking. But don’t take it from me. Just look at the rating. At the time of writing this review (Which by the way the hotel has tried to unethically take down), the hotel is rated number 215 of 337 hotels in Orlando. That places it in the top 64%. I think that number speaks for itself.
Ms. Maria Molina and Alma Morales treat us excellent in the buffet area while we stayed for four days. With a big smile, they make us feel at home. Great people oriented skills and a lot of attention to detail. Thank you ladies for all the consideration and nice food.
We arrived and Scott (door greeter) brought us bottles of water. Danielle was behind the counter and quick, friendly, easy to check in. Whole experience was amazing! Nice people, clean facilities, great customer service.
We travel to Orlando several times a month, so I have stayed at many hotels in the local area. This was a typical hotel as far as cleanliness, not fantastic, but not horrible. They had just cleaned the carpets when we arrived, so our room was very clean. The first floor hallway was very dirty and had a weird odor. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Our room itself was perfect for our trip. The kitchen was great and having two bathrooms was very helpful. The suite gave us room to spread out. The pool area was nicer and larger than I expected. My complaint would be that the pool and the bar close at 9pm. If you are at the parks, and want to come back and swim or cool down, it isn't an option here. The breakfast area was clean, well stocked, and constantly refilled. We never had to wait and the breakfast staff was very friendly. You definitely need a car if you stay here. The shuttle only runs a few times a day, and begins much later than the parks open. It is about a 10 minute drive to Disney Springs and there are no restaurants within walking distance. The only thing that would keep me from returning to this hotel is the time the pool and bar close. It's a deal breaker for our family. This is a great hotel if you will have a car, be at the parks most of the day, and want a spacious suite with a kitchen and full breakfast.
My husband and I enjoy this hotel and have stayed here numerous times in the last seven or so years. This current trip was a one night stay before heading to another part of the state. Our one bedroom suite was next to the pool. We had no issues with noise and the blackout curtains behind the sheer curtains worked perfectly. We had an excellent nights sleep with no disturbances. The staff here is lovely, friendly and have always been extremely accommodating to us. Everyone who works here smiles and greets you wherever you happen to be in the building. Something I've always enjoyed here in their lobby, is the huge dispenser of ice water filled with fresh citrus, so refreshing and wonderful. The other thing I feel I must mention is the morning breakfast. The food area is a big open space, The hot food is kept to temperature and the fruit and yogurt is kept on ice. I'm an early riser so I've never experienced them out of anything be it plates, silverware or coffee. The staff that runs that room are attentive, friendly and helpful. I had the opportunity to interact with Leo, Caroline and Zizo this morning. They were all so accommodating and very pleasant. The dining area was open and bright and there was seating outside as well. This is also a very dog friendly hotel! A great thing to know if you're traveling with pets. A few other helpful details. This location is perfect if you're interested in more than WDW. Getting pretty much anywhere from here is so easy. Once you pull out of the parking lot a left turn takes you towards all the WDW attractions. A right turn takes you towards Universal. That right turn also provides you the ability to get to all the shopping and restaurants across I-4 via an overpass about 1/2 mile away. It's also the fastest way to get to I-Drive
Breakfast staff was excellent.,particularly Aixa torres was very polite and helpful.love this hotel.i would highly recomended to any one.i also like the location of the hotel.very close to parks.great experience.
Really nice open breakfast area with really nice people serving in that area. Parking is really tight and ended up parking on the street as they run out of room. Room was spacious like most Residence Inn rooms. My overall rating would've been very good except for after spending four nights here and asking for a late checkout of only 1 PM they (Alexis at front desk) only gave a noon check out :-( I am 10,000 miles away from a million miles on Delta air alone which speaks to how many nights in hotels I spend and I honestly can't remember the last time I could NOT get a 1 PM check out 👎🏻 Sad and kind of indicative of your front desk staff not seeing the forest for the trees in my opinion
It's a decent hotel, but is starting to show signs of age. My main complaint would be the luke warm shower. By the time I am in the shower to notice this, sending an engineer to look at it or offering to move rooms is too late. A hot shower should be table stakes. Plus this weird hole in the wall...
