this residence inn is quite different from the regular ones we stay at, this is more like a resort, big pool. huge breakfast room, lots of breakfast choices. the rooms are spaced out in different building around the pool. the room was great, we had a full functioning kitchen
Had the pleasure of spending 5 nights in a 2 bedroom pet friendly unit last week. To say the staff is friendly, helpful and courteous is an understatement. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard. I would highly recommend they invest in more than 2 waffle makers as the line got pretty long very quickly. Cold brew coffee was an unexpected surprise. Our unit was clean and comfy. Did notice an overwhelming musty smell when opening the cabinets in the kitchen but they were clean. Beds were super comfy and the maids took great care of us. The shuttle service to the park was something we had planned on using until we saw the schedule. Only one to the Magic Kingdom and 2 to EPCOT in the morning and two from only EPCOT in the evening. That was disappointing but certainly not a deal breaker. A lot of construction going on in the vicinity but we were never bothered by the noise. Parking as a result was a bit trying at times but nothing we couldn't manage.
Very Nice and clean Hotel close to Disney World. Rooms are very comfortable. Everything is brand new. Beds are very comfortable. Internet works excellent. Very easy access to Disney Springs. Lots of Restaurants close to Hotel. Easy access to the freeway to go anywhere in the Orlando area. Hotel staff are Great and very helpful.
No complaints at all - friendly staff, everything in our room was clean & comfy! We stayed in a 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite with 2 king size beds & a sleeper sofa - it fit our party of 5 adults perfectly!
We loved this hotel! It fit our family's needs exceptionally. We had a suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms which made it nice to get ready for the day vs having to wait to use the bathroom. The hotel was in an excellent location very close to all the theme parks. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly.
The Cons: We stayed in 2 different rooms during our stay due to our first room getting flooded by a broken pipe a couple of floors above (that's a story in itself). The first room we checked in to "appeared" to have been visited by the cleaning staff as the beds were made, the soaps had been stocked, etc. However, one of the bathrooms had urine in the toilet, Not flushed. There was a used plastic cup on the kitchen counter, and the previous tenants' key cards were sitting on the bed. The following morning we noticed stains on the bed sheets. I left a few dollars on the bed with a note "Please change sheets". A few days later I received a call while my family and I were enjoying DisneyWorld. I was told that a pipe had been broken a couple floors up from our room and that our room had been flooded. After returning to our room late in the evening, we were tired and ready for bed, but were given a different room to transfer our belongings to. When we went to the old room to gather our things, the power had been shut off. It was stinky, muggy, and pitch black. Our dirty clothes pile had been thrown into our suitcase with all of our remaining clean clothes (so I had to spend around $15 and waste my time doing laundry during our stay rather than enjoying ourselves). We used our phone's flashlights to try to gather our things in the dark. Furniture had been moved and was blocking the entrance to the bathrooms where many of our belongings were. Using a Walmart bag, we took several trips gathering our things from the fridge and elsewhere around the room and moving to the new room. I never located one of my phone chargers after this experience and probably left it in that dark room. We were now in the second room, very late at night, after a long day. We had to get up early the next day to go to the parks again. Unfortunately we didn't get up as early as we had hoped due to this experience. When we pulled back the sheets in the second room, my wife noticed a pubic hair on the sheets. She removed it with a Kleenex and we though "maybe it just came out in the wash". But then she noticed another, and another. After 5+ of them, I called down for new sheets. I received some clean (But stained) sheets at the door and made the bed myself. I also wiped up the dried urine drops surrounding the toilet. Over the next few days, we noticed this second room had a bug problem. They were tiny bugs that would climb all over the kitchen counter, even though there was no food there. We'd wipe them up with paper towels and they'd come right back a few minutes later. I responded to a survey request by Marriott and received what appears to be a generic response from the general manager thanking me for completing the survey and that any issues would be communicated with the appropriate teams. Honestly, I am a little shocked that the hotel didn't say "Sorry for this totally bad experience for making you switch rooms during your stay. We're comping you a couple of nights for that experience." They definitely need to hire additional staff so that housekeeping actually has the time to fully clean the rooms between stays. They must be expecting them to do too much in too little time. The Pros: This hotel is in a nice location. It is pretty close to both DisneyWorld and Universal Studios. It has a nice pool area, a freshly painted exterior. A remodeled lobby area, and a great free breakfast in the morning. The hotel staff is also very friendly. In summary, there are A LOT of hotels in the Orlando area. I'd look somewhere that cares a little bit more about the customer's experience and has the staff to keep the hotel clean. Also somewhere that will give you a break if there's a terrible experience at the hotel during your stay.
I was in Orlando with family for vacation, and started out at the Residence Inn at Sea World...hated that property, so checked out and found this one with Great service and rooms. Let me check in early so that we could enjoy Disney and not worry about our bags and late check in. The bent over backwards to help with bags and any requests...will stay here again
Stayed at this hotel during a recent getaway to the Disney and Universal parks. The location of this hotel to the parks is very convenient. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast bar was better than most hotels at which I've stayed . Stayed in room 307 (2 br suite) and found the room clean, quiet, and fairly well maintained. Multiple shopping and dining options are within a mile. Would definitely consider another stay at the hotel for a future trip.
I don't know where to start.. I'll just go with the facts... Room 112 has black mold in the bathroom.. Moved rooms to 505 slept in the bed next day as I was pushing the covers back I noticed a red splatter... Investigated only to find blood stains all over the underside of the blanket along with pink lipstick.. Had housekeeping sent up by supervisor Chris who seemed deeply disgusted by the comforter... Next day my friend wakes up with bite marks all over her leg.. We strip the bed and find stains all over the mattress. Immediately request a manager to my room, Mark the GM comes upstairs with a non chalant condescending attitude. He did not seem to care about the nasty room bedding at all... Corporate was no help and neither was he. I will never stay here or any Marriott property ever again.
We have always stayed at this resort when visiting the Orlando area. Upon arrival, we noticed several updates had been made to make a more modern feel to it. The front desk girl was very friendly and helped us check in right away. Our room had just been freshly cleaned, so sofa and chairs were still quite damp (they had a dog in the room previously we were told). We noticed our ice maker was overflowing with ice and that a part was missing to stop it from making ice. We also noticed a few ants in the kitchen area and 2nd bedroom area on the night stand, but nothing major, just odd since we were on the 4th floor. The toilet handle was loose and continued to run after being flushed, however the maintenace person took care of that for us right away. We also noticed there were no longer safes in the room, but when my husband asked about it, the mainteance person brought one to our room later that evening. The next day, we noticed several ants in the kitchen area, 2nd bedroom bathtub and 2nd bedroom bathroom area. This time there were too many to ignore, so we told the front desk. They told us we could move to a different room so we went to take a look. We noticed a couple of ants in the kitchen area (dead) and the neighbors were quite loud, so we opted to stay in our room and keep all food out of the rooms. The swimming pool seemed very cool for a heated pool this time around, usually it is really warm. The breakfast area is really good and the kitchen staff workers are wonderful! Overall, it really is a nice place to stay, I'm just a bit surprised about the ant situation.
