Our experience during our stay was mixed.
Starting with the positive, the host is TERRIFIC, very responsive, attentive and provided all the necessary information prior to the stay.
The townhome is large and bright with lots of room and all the basics are provided. The inside of the house was very clean and comfortable. There was ample available parking. The townhome is located in a vacation rental community and during our stay the area was quiet, beds comfortable and we slept well at night. The pool is just the right size to cool off in and the community “resort style” pool was very enjoyable (get there early as it fills up). The landscaping in the community was very well maintained and grocery stores and a Target are nearby.
Unfortunately, I know the host was very responsive because I communicated with her the ENTIRE trip.
The struggles of our stay started at our arrival when the townhome was not ready an hour past the scheduled check-in time. No worries, but would have been nice to know, as we just sat in the car and waited for the cleaning crew to finish. As stated the inside of the house was clean, but they had failed to clean the back pool deck that was disgusting and the pool was too green and cloudy to swim in. I contacted the host and she sent the pool guy and cleaners out the next day, much appreciated, but also kinda a bummer we couldn’t use the pool for about 1 day.
Although the host tried diligently, she was unable to get a pest control company out there during our stay to treat the kitchen which was infested.
NOTE: I grew up in FL, so I know the difference between a random bug and when they’ve set up shop. The rest of the house was bug-free though.
In fairness, I think the previous renters had been pretty hard on the property, but at this price point I expect better quality control and not to have to personally deal with all these issues during our vacation.
If the pool cleaning and bug issues are addressed then I would highly recommend this rental.
Some other minor issues:
Upon arrival we still had to dry and fold all the towels.
The community is gated, but one gate was broken and the other just opened if you drove up to it.
The bed frame in a master bedroom was so squeaky it could not be slept on.
Living room furniture is showing wear
One of the towel holders was pulled out of the wall
There is no way to latch/secure the front door once inside, so anyone with a key code could enter.
