This place is OK but i though a red lion name would make it better. It's really a very tired facility. The pictures of the governors and history are fun, but it looks like a cool hotel, constructed in the 1950s with the original carpeting and everything. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean but the smell of weed wafting from other rooms, and screaming homeless people in could be heard through the window that overlooked the park/ street. I didn't feel unsafe, so that's why it's a 3. Hotel staff all nice. Standard bfast like you get at a super 8. For another $30/ night, the hotel a few blocks north on capitol would be my choice for next time.
The toilet was obviously not working prior to arrival. They wanted a signature at check-in stating we would be responsible for any water damage? Seemed weird but later i found out why.
The room was dirty and the hotel was very out dated as a whole! When I asked for a new room the manager made me wait an hour just to talk to him about a new room.
Super nice host checking me in. Room very dated, peeling tub—paint chunks clogging drain. Broken hinge on fridge cabinet, caused me a huge bump after running in to it during the night. Best COVID-times breakfast provided by a hotel—hot and served cafeteria style.
The location is great - a block from the park & lake in front of the Capital building and also a couple of blocks from the waterfront - great for walking, sight seeing & restaurants. Parking is on site and free. Building is old but rooms were clean.Cooked breakfast was provided.
Right in downtown, but a beautiful lake view on on side or park view on the other
The history of the building and the location makes it worth while to stay here.
Even though it is undergoing renovation, the facility is perfectly acceptable. The staff is friendly and helpful.
King bed is comfy. My lifted Expedition with kayaks fit in the 10' entrance for parking.
The location of this property was quite convenient. The building is definitely dated. But staff was friendly and professional. The property was clean.
the bathroom was a mess. and we found a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom at about midnight, told front desk and they didn't offer to move us. we were exhausted and didnt ask to move rooms, but if had they offered we would of taken them up. also, they "booked us into a clean room" the night before because we were arriving early, keys didnt work first time, went and had keys reprogrammed no big deal, tried a second time - some guy (who was clearly asleep) opened the door. yah they put us in a room that someone was already in. 3rd times the charm we had hoped. got into the room, the bathroom as dirty and had hair on the floor, the room was smaller than what i had booked. after we checked out the next morning, it was clear night shift didnt tell day shift about the leak, because they scrambled to go check things. I called back later that day after I realized i left something in the room, asked them if they figured out what was going on with the leak, she said it was the shower head. I told them no, there was a crack in the ceiling and I had a video of it dripping from the ceiling, she argued with me and said house keeping and maintenance said it was the shower head. so whatever you do, dont stay in room 702. this hotel appears to be changing hands like Red Lion bought it as there were banners over the previous hotel name. bed was comfortable so that was a plus. everything else was a disaster. parking was easy. hotel easy to find as well.
Excellent breakfast! Room was clean and staff was friendly.
Comfortable bed, nice room. There is no closet, just a hanging bar that is too close to the ground to hang anything. One elevator was broken and the other was crazy slow. I would still stay here again, the location is good and I slept well.
The property is well-located near the State Capitol and room was clean. The elevator was not consistently wirking and no gym.

Thank you for your feedback about our historic property here in Downtown Olympia! Though we do enforce a no smoking policy, there are people that choose to ignore this on occasion and for that we apologize. We do have a full renovation planned in the near future and hope that you will allow us another chance to serve you.
