The condo was newly updated, nice decor and furniture, great location, Plaza property was great with the pools, beach access, tiki bar, live music etc!
Vacasa- Check-in was required at a separate bldg as was instructed on the paperwork upon booking. When we did, the Vacasa rep was friendly yet, acted unsure as to why we checked in there in person, even though our instructions said to. She said we only needed the emailed code to get into the unit door. There was no welcome packet for us in the file of welcome packets she flipped through. It seemed she wasn’t sure if we had everything we needed to head to the unit. She went and grabbed pool passes for us as an afterthought. Not a smooth check-in process, but all in all not a big deal.
The best part was when we got to the Plaza, unpack 2 cars, plus groceries we just purchased, get up to the unit, and the door code wont open.20 minutes of trying to get in. 7 of us standing in the hot sun, kids beyond ready to be inside to use the bathroom, cold groceries getting warm, blah blah blah. There was also a huge pile of dirty sheets/towels in trash bags left right outside our unit door. That was strange. Called the Vacasa office I just left from, was on hold for forever. Finally tell the Vacasa rep that the code box is faulty but that we finally got it to work. Also tell them the screen door was busted.Now the real fun begins. About 20 flies flying around inside.We literally had to grab the fly swatter and put 2 ppl on fly duty. Then, as we look in the bedrooms, half of the beds are still covered in used sheets and are all half made. Used towels in bathrooms, no toilet paper though said there would be a starter amount, sand EVERYWHERE including in the beds! It was very clear the place was not cleaned prior to our arrival. I call Vacasa again and am left on hold for eternity..After we cleaned the unit for 4 hrs ourselves (930pm), I received a msg from Vacasa that our unit was not cleaned (no sht!) but they could move us.I already had my toddlers in bed and did not to want to pack up n move after all we did. Asked for refund of some sort.They took off the minimal cleaning fee. The maintenance guy came to ‘fix’ door code box next day while we were at beach, but it still not work leaving us standing outside again with bags of steamed crabs waiting to get inside that eve! Finally guy had to make regular keys cuz the box was broken. Dirty bags there all week. In end got 1% refund from Vacasa
