Shelborne South Beach

I love the pool and the beach service. The rooms are so tiny and the housekeeping service was spotty. We ran out of toilet paper twice because they didn’t fill it or leave extra. The staff was as a whole not friendly. There was one bartender who was exceptional and kind. He worked the evening shift at the bar in the back of the lobby before you head outside. He made our trip a little brighter!

Great size rooms, friendly staff, nice hotel overall. Disliked size of bathroom. Too small

Great style and really good beach access, convenience and lovely staff.

The Shellborne charged me for a ocean front room but upon arrival I was informed that all of their ocean front rooms have been under construction since the hurricane in 2018. They then proceeded to put me in a series of rooms in attempt to keep my reservation all of which were not facing the ocean. I checked out after day 1 of my 7 day intended stay.

Excellent location, clean, trendy bar, staff accessible and helpful, direct beach access and waiter service. One complaint is daily umbrella rental is not included in resort fee.

Great beach access though the chair/towel guys were very slow to set up one day. Dominic who takes care of food/drink on the beach is great. The cabaret thing was okay. Maid service came at 5:30pm. Horrible timing, definitely when people are back in their room to get ready to do out. Great location, and the staff is generous with complimentary drink cards for the property.

Hotel staff when available was very nice. Room was old, no outlets, balcony door wouldn’t close. Paying extra for a partial ocean view was a mistake. Our room was on the fourth floor with basically no view.

pool and beach staff very nice and helpful .very clean rooms . the food by pool was excellent as well .

Was there for a weekend getaway and loved everything about it from the area to the staff.

II had read the reviews before going to Miami Beach. Most beach properties were about the same, mostly good reviews with a handful of bad to worse. When I got to the Shelborne I was amazed at how many great reviews and they were all current! I made my mind up that is where I was going to stay. Well the reviews don't lie! From the moment we got there we were treated like we were special. Greeting us was Kyle Moon, very professional and helpful. We were in town (first time) to celebrate our anniversary. Not only did he comp us with a few drink vouchers but the very next night we returned to the room with a bottle of champagne on the counter. With a very nice note from Kyle Moon wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Durning that day I forgot to take off the “do not disturb” sign off the door. Most places just use that as an excuse not to make the room up. Not so at the Shelborne, I received a text from Esperanza inquiring about service(of which it was done perfectly). Later another text Delisa asking if we needed recommendations, following day another text from Caroline inviting us to a complimentary ice cream sampling. Next the pool was great and the beach was just a short walk(also great). Of note the refresment guy at the beach worked his butt off (sorry forgot his name) We do a lot of traveling, an the Shelborne is the best of the best! Again THANKS to Kyle Moon and the staff for making our trip a very memorable one!

8 members of my family stayed at this hotel in January. The hotel looks tired, with grubby bathroom tiles, carpets and missing pool tiles. My parents paid extra for a room with a sea view and were told it wasn't available during check in. No apologies or refund offered, just a lame excuse. The staff is particularly unfriendly around the pool area and not very child friendly.

Great location walk to everything and direct beach access. Nice staff. free bikes.

The hotel itself is nice and the lobby is beautiful. My only problem was the room itself. The carpet was dirty and stained; i didn't even want to walk with my shoes off. The sofa had to brown stains on it. The bathroom drawers had so much dust and gunk on the pull out handles that i never even opened them because I didn't want to touch it. My phone was broken so I had to go down to the front desk to ask for it to be cleaned and of course it still didn't get cleaned. I asked for a room change which they couldn't do the first day and I understood, but I would have gladly switched rooms the next day when people were checking out. The front desk took off my resort fee's as a consolation, but honestly I would have rather paid more and gone to a different hotel. Also, the rooms layout didn't look like how it did on the website. There was a huge beam in the middle of the room and the tv wasn't on a wall facing the bed. That would be okay as I would just turn my head to see it from the bed but the beam in the middle of the room blocked the tv from most spots. The couch was in front of the tv but obviously I didn't want to sit on it because it had brown stains on it. On the brighter side however, the beach was great and we get 2 beach chairs saved at the beach which is great. There are a lot of food places and restaurants around. I was going to get a rental car but the valet parking is $40 per night. I would suggest uber/lyft because they're EVERYWHERE and I ended up spending way less.

At first I thought I was going to be upset because my room wasn't ready but then I was upgraded to a suite and I received complimentary drinks !! The hotel staff was very nice. The girl at the front desk was amazing. The hotel seemed to be short staff that day as I seen her delivering luggage to rooms as well , with a smile even though it wasn't her job! Another gentleman who works for IT department was willing to help me with my spa reservations although it wasn't his job this hotel. People barely want to do their job so doing your job and more speaks volume to me I would definitely visit this hotel again !

Overall my stay was nice. The young lady who checked me out and I believe she was the same young lady who checked me in on the day of my arrival, was not the friendliest. Her countenance was cold. Other than her, everyone else I came into contact was very nice and hospitable. Also, the carpet in the rooms look wore and a somewhat dirty. Other than that, the hotel and it's accommodations are nice.

Surprised my fiancé with my trip to Miami to celebrate his birthday with friends. We had an amazing time! From the upgraded full ocean view room to the complimentary drinks, nice pool and cabanas, stellar poolside service from Bobby (our favorite) and the others, extremely comfortable bed and other nice amenities, we had an awesome time. The only down side was the lack of accommodation for late check out. Our flight was delayed and we asked to stay longer and was only given an extra 30 minutes, told we needed to pay $100 for an extra 2 hours. Mind you, check in is at 4pm so why do we need to pay $100 to stay until 2pm? Anyway, the staff was very professional but I wish more accommodating. Also, did not like the idea of having to pay for beach umbrella. We are already guests with paid rooms and resort fees. Moral of the story: expect to spend money in Miami. Otherwise, we highly recommend this hotel. It is stunning. Uber or walk where all of the action is happening while being able to relax and avoid the noise and crowd.

I loved it. Stayed for 4 nights in townhouse 8 and it was beautiful 2 floors 2 big bathrooms downstairs and in the master bedroom, 3 balconies in total. So clean. Everyday I was given a free cocktail for the day. Delencia took really good care of us. Will definitely be staying again!!
