Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel

The smell in room is not good and fresh! My nose was allergies there. Yet the air out side of the room is much good than in door!

The location was amazing, it felt like we were away at a private island but still had the feel of South Beach. I can honestly say nothing wrong about this hotel it was the best stay I had in Miami and I've been coming to Miami since 2000

Friendly staff, good breakfast at a discount, attentive pool and beach staff, nicely appointed rooms, comfy beds, quiet, beach front - this hotel was a real winner. The only thing I didn't like was that the showers have only half of a wall on the entrance side, making for some splashing on the floor and a somewhat colder shower than normal. By design, there is no door - nice to look at, but impractical. Everything else was great. Good location in art deco area with easy access to lots of good restaurants and bars. Loved being on the 'boardwalk' for morning walks and beach access right behind the hotel.

1. Easy walking distance to most of South Beach 2. Very nice pool area with easy access to the boardwalk and beach 3. Great bar in the lobby 4. Room well done, if a bit small.

Kimpton does the right things very well! From the warm greeting of the doormen who always open the front doors, to the receptiveness and friendliness and helpfulness of all of the front desk staff to the complimentary wine happy hour, you feel at home (in a very nice home) right away. This is an older, renovated hotel, so the bedroom was smallish, and the bathroom was cramped, but they were clean and attractive. The lobby is comfortable and inviting, the indoor bar friendly and the food excellent. The pool area was gorgeous - a quiet, pampered retreat. The pool bar was wonderful, and the pool staff attentive and friendly. The beach is literally 10 feet away from the hotel property, and the hotel itself is located conveniently within walking distance to everything in South Beach. Overall, a perfect vacation spot - I would definitely go again and would recommend to others.

We checked in early so the room was not available which was fine. Stored our luggage with ease than went to the pool area. Nice area and walked along the beach path that runs the length of South Beach area which is great. Had not heard about our room at 4:30 so went to the front desk, they were suppose to text us once the room was ready. Rexeived the text after wr checked into our room. The room was ok but the patio made it worthwhile. Loved the balcony space and enjoyed sitting out there. The daily resort fee was more expensive compared to other hotels in the area that were nicer. Due to this I would stay at other hotels in the future.

Use the bikes and cycle along the beach path; have the breakfast sandwich; use the pool

Great location! Food is a little pricy but besides that it's amazing! Would definitely stay here again.

It is rediculous to have to hold $362.00 for incidentals that I did not use, for a two night stay. The room I had reserved was a " Deluxe Room " with a king size bed, nothing deluxe about the room. The room is very small, and the restroom is tiny as well. The room was next to an alley and there was a constant noise from what I can only guess was the hotel A/C compressors. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows are not comfortable. The staff on the other hand was nice and accomidating. Didn't even drink a coke out of the fridge after seeing the $10.00 price on the bottle of water.

Staff is friendly accommodating. There were couple of issues in the pool - were not able to get towels for the beach. Pool is heated and we're able to use cabana during the rain, which was very nice and comfortable for the changing weather conditions Reception allowed early checkin and late (1 hr later ) checkout. Please note hotel charges 30 dollars additional resort fee a day ( did not notice while booking ) was a little surprised when checked in. Try to avoid booking a room facing a court yard : generator is making annoying noise could hear throuout the night even during the day when music was playing by the pool. Stayed in October, weather was nice but was not able to open windows due to that noise! Brought it up to the staff attention they said that will send an engineer but not sure what was done on that . They have some activities happening throughout the day so read the cards in the room : ex vine testing almost daily for an hour in the lobby but not really advertised by the reception desk ;) so ask and look for info. Room was not spacious but cute and clean. Super cold corridor , was always walking super fast to get to the 'warmth'

No joke, the walk to the beach is only less than 2 minutes. You pass by the pool of the hotel and you're there. The hotel has their own chairs at the beach, they have people check you in and out the towels on the chair so you can lay down and tan. The umbrella and another cover to lay under is an extra cost though. Me and my boyfriend were fine with just the chairs which was no cost. Overall, the rooms were cozy. You can adjust the AC to however you want. Daily room service is there to clean your bed, trash & new towels. The beds are so soft aswell. The pool is open 24/7 which is great. The Gym aswell. The $27.50 fee per day includes free wifi, bikes that you can take and ride around Miami Beach, towels, seat at the beach, coffee and tea every morning, water & sunscreen, etc that I forgot also included. Overall my stay was great, the only problem was that my room was above the entrance of the hotel so they have a resturant and music was playing at night until 11:30pm max. I asked one of the ladies if they could turn in down and it's not a problem.

First time in South Beach and the Surfcomber didn't disappoint. Great location, with instant beach access and shops/restaurants in walking distance. The hotel has an awesome pool area, too. Staff was friendly. Would definitely stay again and will recommend to my friends.

We had a great time but the rooms our group had were very small. Too small for 4 people to share.

Everything was great. Drinks on beach are expensive but overall great!

This hotel is convenient to everything and right on the beach! A great happy hour by the pool as well as an affordable poolside lunch menu :) There was a 50$ a day "resort fee" that I didn't anticipate which included 2 chairs on the beach per day. (I would have like to known that before booking)

I stayed at this place for one night and am very impressed with the service of the hotel. Staff there are very professional and attentive. Hotel is very close to the beach and lots of restaurants and bars near the hotel. If you enjoy a good night life, this is definitely a place to for you!

Asked for a late checkout (1 pm) the evening before I departed and was told it would be no problem, and to simply confirm in the morning. Called in the morning to confirm, especially given the fact that I had become sick with a GI bug in the night, and really needed to sleep in before my flight. When I mentioned that the evening manager said all I had to do was ask for a late checkout, I was told it would only be possible for a fee. Not exactly service excellence, especially for a guest who was feeling unwell.

We loved our 1 night stay at the Surfcomber. I only wish we were able to stay longer. I was 14 weeks pregnant when we stayed here and I was having trouble sleeping for weeks before our trip. I had 10 hours of straight sleep on the night we slept here! The bed was amazingly comfortable. I keep forgetting to call and find out what type of bed we had! We had a great time! We loved being able to use the free $10 to raid he bar! The staff was amazing. The free lemon water was delish! We had a great time at the beach. Unfortunately we did not get to go in the pool but we fully intend to visit again!

the hotel and the stuff are great! I always bring my dog and everyone is so kind and friendly. It is good value for the money and great location. The wine hour is really good way to meet new people.

Thank you so much for sending us your feedback – not everyone does, you know! I’m so sorry that your past stay was less than perfect. That’s always our goal and it looks like we missed our mark. This isn’t our normal standard of service, and I’d love another chance to impress you if you’re ever headed back to South Beach.
