Reasonably priced...great location...friEndy folks...and we are going back nxt year...

This hotel is older and could use some updates but is perfectly acceptable. We only spend a few hours in the room in the mornings, having coffee on the balcony while looking at the ocean. The view is amazing! The rest of our day is spent sitting on the beach, where we had the same spot with a palapa everyday for 2 weeks! Never had a problem getting chairs or tables!! We had friends at emerald Bay who pay SO much to be there and had NO chairs or palapas unless the "saved" one at 6 in the morning!! Having the kitchenette is the clincher tho. Although we don't cook while there (SO many restaurants that are within walking distance to choose from) we love having the refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot available!! We love the location on the north end. And will go back there again. My favorite place in the world!

We have stayed here the last few years and every time we have clean rooms in a great location at a fantastic price. This is an older hotel but well maintained. Staff is excellent!!!

the restaurant was a disappointment, drinks were expensive otherwise a good time, met nice people. the place is close to good and affordable bars and restaurants. nice beach area. timeshare people were low key and nice. welcome change!

Been here twice and plan to return next winter. Luna Palace is a smaller hotel at the north end of the Zona Dorado. As a result, the neighborhood is quieter, with fewer "clubs", but still a good selection and variety of restaurants. All rooms have decent kitchenettes, and basic food items are available at two nearby OXXOs (like 7Eleven) and a Guadalajara Pharmacy. Buses to Centro (10 pesos) and various supermarkets, malls, and markets (7.5 pesos) stop in front of the hotel every few minutes. Being smaller, the hotel is quite "homey", the staff are very friendly, the grounds are immaculately kept with lots of palms around the pool. Don't expect activities like yoga or bingo or live music late into the night (this is not a "Sandals"!), which is why I like it!

I booked my hotel rooms through an online company trivago/orbitz and something went wrong with my reservation. It's was for 2 rooms with 2 adults and 2 children in each room. When I got my confirmation for the rooms it had showed only my self as the guest. I didn't think it was a big deal because the hotel policy allows 2 adults and 2 children in each room and it's not like it's all inclusive. However when we went to check in the front desk said because I was the only one on the reservation every one eles (the other 3 adults and 4 kids)would have to pay an additional $10 each for each night. That's an extra $70 a night! I called called orbitz right away to try to fix my reservation. After being on the phone for almost an hour with Orbitz the guy at the front desk said that we could check in but that they would need a conformation email from orbitz with the correct amount of people in each room before we checked out or we would have to pay the extra fees. After several hours of my vacation wasted being on the phone with orbitz, trying to deal with the front desk and reservations the front manager decided that they were going to charge us anyways even though they received an email from orbitz and spoke to an orbitz representative. The hotel it's self was ok, nothing special well except for the view that was pretty awsome. And as a previous person mentioned in their review there are little bugs, I think they're ants we had bites in the morning.

Excellent hotel. Next to the beach, love it. Would totally recommend to family and friends.

The rooms are not the best but are realy clean... nice view and close to everything

I was disappointed because I could never have towels when I needed them otherwise the hotel was OK I would not go there again

Good hotel for the price - we would stay here again. Our room had a bedroom with two double beds, and living room/kitchen combo. Liked that the bedroom was on the ocean side rather than the street side. Lots of room to put clothes when you unpack, plenty of cupboard space in kitchen if you do any grocery shopping, beds were very comfortable and the room was clean and well maintained considering that it's an older property. The pool area wasn't as festive as the hotel we usually stay at and they don't have a roped off area to keep the beach vendors at bay. I read many reviews that mentioned that the staff was unfriendly - we didn't find the staff unfriendly but we don't speak Spanish so there was definitely a language barrier - I don't hold that against the hotel though. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again unless our favorite hotel goes back to European instead of All Inclusive.

Hotel location, amenities and service were great. The staff was friendly and professional.most definitely will go back. My wife loved it.

We were promised when we booked that we would have a continental breakfast for 2 everyday. We counted on enjoying this at the resort every AM When we arrived we were told no you don't get it. We had not budget for breakfast. Also we left the resort every day as we would not patronize them after bad costumer service over this. We were very disappointed.

slow check in.....tv remote did not work, no ice trays, air conditioning leaked water. All items were repaired . they lock up all the dishes, glasses, etc. and wanted a $50 deposit to use the items. No coffee pot in the room! My daughters were staying in the resort next door and i spent most of my time around their pool as my resort would not let me have any guests in the room or around the pool. I never heard of such a rule in a resort. I would never stay there again.

This hotel is located kind of far from El Malecon. It's perfect to just relax with the family...

The Luna Palace is located right on the beach and all rooms give a beautiful view of the ocean and in some cases the pool area as well. The beach is the best in Mazatlan with a long, flat very walkable section. All rooms have a kitchenette so you can cook some meals and make drinks easily. Also all offer a nice balcony with chairs and a table. We have been going to Mazatlan for 20 years and stayed in much more expensive hotels in the past, but this hotel is equal or better at a fraction of the price. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Not all speak English fluently, which is a great opportunity to practice your Spanish, which was a goal of ours. They will all work with you to ensure communication, and fulfill any request. This hotel was a complete and pleasant surprise for us, and we will be returning often.

Was actually very pleased with our stay at the Luna. The beach was AWESOME. Rooms were comfortable but dated. Staff was very accommodating and amenities very good. Would stay again.

This is our second year at the Luna Palace and I am pretty sure I will stay there again next year. I have to say that the front desk staff was not as fluent in English (I know, why don't we learn some Spanish??) as it was last year. Communication was sometimes difficult especially when the water pipe broke in our room!! Our hotel reservation included a 15% discount on all food and drinks. They do not provide a card or anything, we just have to tell each server about it and hope for the best. I know I was not the only one with this complaint, I heard another guest expressing their frustration about the same thing when I was checking out. Since the prices around the pool bar did not seem consistent, you were never sure if you got the discount or not. With the exception of Jorge and one other man by the pool, the service was not that great. You were lucky to have anyone ask you if you needed anything while they were seen standing by the restaurant door. I also had a discussion with another guest about the service or at time, lack of it. Again, Jorge is TERRIFIC. The pool was chilly the first couple of days and then it was fantastic, loved it!! The cleaning ladies we had were wonderful, Gloria and Bertha the ones that took care of the 7th floor both did a very nice job. All said and done, I am sure we will stay there again. The value is good and the location if near most anything you would need.

This hotel had a nice pool área and is beachfront. The rooms are not the best, and the staff does very Little to make one feel welcome. Be sure to ask for the room you want at booking, including a King bed, etc. The best rooms are at the ends of the building.

The people are great, the view is awesome, the grounds are outstanding. The rooms are not new but the beds are great. Tony, the travel guy who works with the concierge is awesome. If you don't want to deal the timeshare bodysnatchers on the street, see Tony--good tours and no flim flam. If you want to catch some fish he can arrange that too--We caught more big pompano than we could eat! Good place, good value, but not the Taj Mahal! If you want the TAJ Mahal and want to spend all your time in one place, spend more money. BYT the Fish Market Restaurant and Pancho's, just a short walk away are superb--Pancho's for breakfast and the Fish Market for supper! Use the cabs--don't bother to rent a car. Driving in Mazatlan is not fun

the luna is a somewhat older "moderate" hotel. pretty well maintained, rooms are clean and "grounds" are well maintained. pool is very nice with lots of lounge chairs. right on beach with palapas for shade. gorgeous ocean views. lots of small grocery stores, restaurants, shopping close by. staff is friendly, helpful. have stayed at luna maybe 6 times over past several years and all stays have been great. rooms have an in-room safe for your valuables. all rooms have a good to excellent view of the ocean and offshore island-some of the lower floors, your view can be partially blocked by coconut trees. wife and i will definitely return to the luna on our next mazatlan trip.
