All the dining staff were friendly. Oscar and Jose were a couple of our favorites. Fresh fruit daily was my favorite, but we enjoyed the variety available. The room sofa needs to be replaced - felt like it was broken, otherwise the room was comfortable and clean, thanks to Estelle, one of our housekeepers

We had a great time at the Decameron! The staff were the best aspect of the trip. All very kind, with fast and friendly service! Rooms and pools were clean, food and drinks were readily avaliable all day and night in one or more areas. The food was very good, but nothing was particularly amazing. But we were very happy with everything, especially considering the price! Also, we read a few negative reviews on Decameron before booking about language barriers with the staff. This was not our experience at all. I speak a little Spanish and my wife speaks very little (just a few words and phrases), but we found the staff very patient and helpful when we wanted to learn and practice. Also, they all spoke English to some degree and many of the staff spoke 4 or 5 different languages. Anyone who didn't appreciate the staff at this resort was at the wrong resort! Thanks for a wonderful, relaxing time!

Construction was horrible around the hotel. Service was great. Good places to visit around resort. Amazing steakhouse nearby. Could use a different menu, had chicken tinga 3 days in a row. Elevator was not working and my family needed it. Staff was amazing and super friendly. Servers went beyond to please.

Although this isn’t one of the more luxurious hotels in the zone, the property is well maintained, clean, and in a great location(beach adjacent). The staff is helpful and friendly from providing information to offering assistance whenever necessary. My travel partner and I also enjoyed the entertainment and activities that are presented for all guests to enjoy. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a more relaxed environment, but still within proximity to other lively areas.

The resort and the staff are amazing, always smiling and helpful. The only negative was the food and drinks. Only 1 restaurant open when we went so by the end of the week was getting a little boring. The drinks tasted watered down, like they do at most all inclusive resorts. Overall was a great experience and we will be back.

The hotel was smaller than i expected, but it was great. The staff was all very friendly. We stayed in the slow season September 2025. They do not stock the mini fridge.The main buffet was closed during the week but open on weekends. So basically there is only one restaurant because the ala carte was where you ate all meals. The food was good, but they have limited menus during the week for lunch Chicken Tingas, Hickory burger, chicken or cheese quesadilla, crispy potato tacos, polenta pizza, and salads or soups. Breakfast was a set menu with about 6 selections. Dinner was 3 options. The big pool was closed the whole time we were there and that was a pool with the swim up bar. But the other main pool was on the other side so we just needed to get out and get a drink, it's not that bad. Elevator was closed so we had to do the stairs if you have trouble with stairs be aware that it's alot of stairs. The adults only pool is on the roof of one of the building and is very small but nice and the swim bar was open. It was incredibly hot during the day so if you can venture out in the evening it would be better weather. There's an oxxo across the street and a le Comer up the street really awesome store. Hotel is in San Jose, there is an open market there in the evening. September 2025 there was major road construction and it was awful to leave the resort. Uber is easy and cheaper than taxi. Spanish speaking drivers so if you don't speak spanish have a translator app.

I loved everything. Staff warm smiles and exceptional service is remarquable. The food and drinks were delicious all the time. Beautiful place and gardens. The only down side was not being able to swim in the beach of the hotel. However there are near by public beaches like El Chileno o El Medano that are beautiful.
