Stayed here on a trip home to Texas from Florida. My sister works for Marriott and so we decided to here. Checked in late with 3 kids under 5.... walked in and smell hit us... not just musty which I understand from humidity. But mold, mildew and filth. I would not let me kids walk around because you could see dirt built up around the room . Bathrooms were atrocious. Molded tile and bath tub looked dirty but was stained. Door into tub area wouldn’t stay closed and kept swinging open. Super frustrating. Then shower wouldn’t drain. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to stand in water that is backing up from the drain. It was late and I had 3 kids tired and cranky. I did not have the privilege to change rooms easy so I stuck it out and left early. My sister checked us in so I can’t make any comments about staff, did not eat breakfast because that’s not that important to me. Oh I forgot to mention when we walked in it was over powering room air freshener smell in the lobby and wall ways.

This hotel was great, easy access from the interstate. It is located on a service road, but most of the restaurants were located on the opposite side of the highway. Hotel was very clean and everyone that was on the staff spoke to us whenever we passed them. The HOT breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfortable and pillows were great. The vanity area was very small and there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom which is very small, but at least there is a door separating the toilet and shower from the vanity even though it is very close. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Indoor pool and workout room is available for use. The only bad thing I have to say about this hotel is that when we checked in, we were very surprised that we were required to put up a 100.00 security depost for the room even though we had secured our reservation with a credit card, we paid cash for the room. I did not see anywhere on the website where a security deposit is required. They had my credit card on file and I have never had to put up a security deposit for a room before. I usually secure the room with a credit card and pay with cash when I check in. They had my credit card on file to charge if we would have done any damage to the room or bought a movie etc. I chose not to put the security deposit on my credit card because I was informed that it could take 3-5 business days for it to credit my account back for the deposit and we were traveling and so taking the extra 100.00 cash put us short on cash for our trip as we only took so much cash for that and wouldn't get it back until the next morning when we checked out or if I put it on my credit card, I would have had a hold on the funds for 3-5 business days. It just put a damper on our anniversary trip. It was our 30th anniversary. I am a rewards member, not a silver, gold or platinum member, but I am still a member regardless.

This is a good, decent, clean place to stay for the night. It is not the nicest property but I have stayed multiple times and each time the staff was friendly the room was clean and it served its purpose as a place to sleep for the night.

I was upgraded to a small suite as I am a platinum member with Marriott; however. the room was on the freeway side of the hotel. It was impossible to sleep as the hotel is old and the windows do not stop any sound...tossed and turned all night. In addition the room is dated and the bathroom dirty. Certainly not up to Marriott standards.

Great service and good coffee! This is an older hotel that is being continually updated. They were working on the TVs and their service provider when we stayed which resulted in a very sparse channel assortment. The room was otherwise exactly as I’d expect for a Fairfield Inn. One thing I didn’t like was how the bed was made - the top sheet was folded over in an unusual way and I had to completely remake the bed. I’ve stayed in hundreds of different Fairfield Inns over the past 25 years and have never encountered sheets folded over in this manner! I wish also that Fairfield Inns would provide heavier bed linens in the winter. Breakfast was also exactly what I expect from a Fairfield Inn with two notables: the OJ was superb - I wish every hotel I stayed at offered OJ of this quality and, as mentioned already, they had delicious bold coffee.

I arrived somewhat late at night and the front desk person couldn't have been more welcoming or personable, which is always a nice touch after being on the road for a while. As another reviewer mentioned, there is a sign in the parking lot about trespassing as well as not being responsible for items you may leave in your vehicle but I did not observe any sketchy persons or have any issues during my stay. The fitness center, like most I encounter is minimal with only a few pieces of cardio equipment and light dumbbells. If you are looking for restaurants to walk to, you are out of luck. There is a Cracker Barrel and Waffle House close, but no sidewalks so you would have to walk on the Frontage Road and then cross the busy Evangeline Throughway. Overall, it was an average Fairfield property, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I’m lifetime platinum. Hotel is just south of the interstate on the service road of MLK. Arrived about 8pm and at my turn 1/2 mile from the hotel there was an abandoned gas station with several sketchy guys hanging out. About 200 yards from the hotel I had to stop because 2 guys were fighting in the road. Not kidding. Big sign at the entrance to the parking lot says if you’re on their property and not a guest you’ll be charged with trespassing. Why put that up if you don’t need it? Left to get something to eat later and someone who was so wasted they could barely walk was walking in front of the hotel. Nearest place I found was Taco Bell and I didn’t want to go in anywhere. There are no sit down restaurants nearby and the area feels industrial and really poor. I have no idea why they put a hotel here. Check in wasn’t great. I tried to be cheery and talkative, the person was gruff and distant. Room was fine. Clean, everything worked and no issues. Good internet. Bed and linens were good. The stay was good once I got in the hotel but the area around it was scary. I was glad my vehicle was there the next morning and in one piece.

My Husband and I stayed at this Fairfield 11/30/17 on our way from delivering FEMA trailers to TX, and it was a nice stay. The staff was amazing. Once we entered the room... a horrible smell of wet carpet or moldy, wet air hit us in the face. It had a smell in the halls as well, but it's covered up by some air freshener. The bed was a little too hard for me but still slept good. We left at 4:15am so we didn't have breakfast. We opened our vehicle and the alarm went off, and to our surprise, security came out immediately!! Very impressed. We also witnessed a local police officer riding through other hotel parking lots. Thank you Fairfield for a good night stay. We will definitely stay again.

We had reserved an overnight stay here for the Festivals de Acadiens. During the festival, we had a medical problem around 1 p.m. that required an early check-in @ the hotel. Brenda, the front desk clerk, was extremely helpful, understanding, and friendly as she checked us in. This hotel is in a convenient area near I-10 & I-49 and only 3 miles from the ULL campus. Our room, #300, was closest to the frontage road so there was a little road noise (thankfully helped by our white noise machine), but u could request a room further away from the road. The room was clean & contained a fridge & microwave. There is free Wi-Fi & an indoor pool as well as a complimentary hot breakfast. Their policy of no pets or smoking was appreciated.

Breakfast run by great personnel. Hot, flavorful and very attentive. Two kinds of sausage, fruit, scrambled eggs same stuff most others have, but this food was actually very tasty. Next time I'm back in Lafayette, I'll stay at this property.
