Nice little cabin

This was my 2nd stay. It’s a nice little cabin with the very basic necessities. The beds are comfortable and the place is relatively clean. The downstairs does have a bit of a dog smelt, but nothing overwhelming or terrible. The description is very accurate. Internet is a bit slow and WiFi signal isn’t very strong. The hosts are very kind and communicate in a timely manner. I would stay again.

Stayed at the brown roof cabin

Our second time staying at the brown roof cabin, and always have a great time. Love the seclusion, the rustic feeling of the cabin, and the closeness to the lake. We will be back again next year.

Health Concerns

The place has many odors. When we got there the basement was over 80% humidity and smelled terrible. After we emptied the dehumidifier (which we had to do daily) it got less smelly but was scary because that smell is not good and it went to 80% humidity any time we let that bucket get full. Upstairs the two through wall AC units barely put out cooling and they also put out a funky bad smell, hard to define, but again it leaves you kinda worried about your health. Finally the upstairs bathroom developed its own unique bad smell even though we left the vent fan on 24/7. Every single member of our group believes this house should not be rented in it's current condition. (this is not to mention that the refrigerator drawers are all broken and the refrigerator itself sprung a leak while we were there creating a crisis at 11:00 PM)

Family Fun

The overall size of the cabin was much smaller than shown on listing. Floors were very uneven making it difficult to keep balance and to clean. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable…rods poking thru mattress. Fire pit was great and kitchen was good, other beds were good and location was convenient. The listing states sleeps 10, but a smaller group would be better.

Overall Very Good . . . beware lack of linens

A group of us stayed here and as the title says, overall it was very good. But we were shocked to find no sheets on the beds and no towels provided. I guess this may have been stated somewhere in its profile but it certainly wasn't stated in a manner where the message was received. For the price we paid I certainly expected a "full service" property, which certainly includes linens.

Nice little getaway

Nice quaint cabin in the woods. Quiet and one with nature. About 10 minutes from Raystown Lake. Plenty to do and see for all ages. Afterwards, bbq and some s’mores by the fire to end the day.

Weekend visit

We were coming from NC and were meeting family here to stay with to attend my aunt Funeral . Cabin is very cozy , very clean and well kept . We really did not stay in the cabin long . I wish we could have been able to stay there for a more getaway trip . It would be a perfect cabin to stay . The fire pit was nice. We brought some wood to use one night we were there . Cabin is very well insulated so it stayed nice and warm inside .

The property and the views were amazing. The cabin was charming. The downfall was the moisture and mold issues. It was a lot of dust on the curtains, ceiling fans, shelves, plants, etc. You could see the mold on the paneling, walls and floors. The dehumidifier and air conditioning units had a lot of mold and dust as well no There were water stains and dried up worms in the downstairs /basement carpet. If this place were thoroughly remediated and cleaned, I would love to go back.

Wonderful girls weekend

This is a great cabin for a group of friends or family to gather for a vacation. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Plenty of space throughout the whole place. We loved sitting outside on the porch and decks. We also loved the fire pit area. Definitely a place we would return to for another getaway.

Bunkhouse Review

Property suited our needs, and was perfect for our revolving door of guests. Twenty-somethings came and went as they were able. Basement was handy when sleep needs were high and we didn’t want to disturb- kitchenette down there allowed for early coffee and quick exit with the dog while others rested. No ice maker, but trays provided. Water tastes good. Ceiling fans are a plus. Two of the 4 A/C units need a good cleaning, so we turned them off. Proximity to Huntingdon was great- also the Resort was only 25 minutes away- dinner aboard the Proud Mary was pleasant. The walk back from the lake, although not far, is not for the faint of heart. I would book again. Reminds me of a family camp I loved when I was young.

Where are the sheets?

The cabin was quaint for sure but had a smell of stale cigars upstairs and cat in the basement. Not god awful dirty but certainly not clean. Lots of dead bugs including in the drawers. Dishes were covered in crumbs but that became-understandable as guest are expected to clean them and put them away. Leading to what I am sure was very little inspection from the host. We had to clean the counters before we could even consider cooking on them. You have to bring your own sheets for the beds as there is none. Bring your own towels, washcloths, paper towels and even TP as there was half a roll on site. As my wife said we just didn’t feel welcome. We felt like unwanted house guest that were only invited for the house warming gifts we would bring.
