Our stay at this property was extremely disappointing, and I want to warn other travelers. The home and the surrounding area were very run down, dirty, and undesirable, nothing like the listing photos suggested. The property itself was clearly unkept and had numerous sanitation and safety issues.We immediately discovered we could not control the air conditioning, as it could only be adjusted from the host’s main house. The bedroom ceiling fan did not work, and despite contacting the host right away, he gave instructions that didn’t work and then ignored all further messages. It was 88 degrees outside, leaving the inside hot, humid, and uncomfortable, making it impossible to sleep.Inside, the conditions were unacceptable:•No garbage bags in garbage cans or anywhere in the home and old food left in the refrigerator•Clogged bathroom sink, molding hanging off the shower, holes in the drywall•Stained and soiled baseboards•¼ inch gap in the door visible from the couch•A toaster that shocked me•No pans for the oven•Lower cabinets full of dirt and wood shavingsThe outside was no better: junk and dirty clothing scattered around, and a caved in break wall where the host’s grill was placed — a major safety hazard. The gas fire pit advertised in the listing was inoperable and had no gas.After one miserable night and no help from the host, we left early. We provided photos of everything, but the host refused to acknowledge any issues.I would not recommend this property
