Overall it's clean. I do not think I will stay there again because they only have queen beds, and the bed is so uncomfortable. It is really difficult to regulate the temperature in the room. Even though I did not take advantage of the outdoor pool, it looked nice. Friendly staff.
My first impression was this place is old however my room was large updated and clean.Staff was pleasant and responsive.The breakfast was simple and limited.I don't know if all of the rooms have been updated.
I booked a room through the toll-free number and was guaranteed a handicapped accessible room with a walk-in shower at the rate of $101.00/$116.00 with taxes. I needed the handicap accessible room as I was meeting my sister, who was bringing my 86-year old mother to go to a memorial family gathering for my uncle who had recently passed away.When I checked in, I was given a room on the 1st floor and thought all was fine until I had all my bags in the room and realized the bathroom was not handicap accessible. I go back to the front desk and tell them we may have a slight problem and that I had reserved a handicap bath b/c my mother utilizes a walker. The lady at the front desk, whose picture was on the wall as Employee of the Month, tells me that she doesn't remember which rooms are handicap accessible. Then, she gives me a room but says "I don't know why they do this, but even the handicap accessible rooms you have to step up into the shower." I told her that was okay, as I was thinking you just had a small step into the shower. The handicap rails for the use of the toilet were my main concern for my mom. So, I move my belongings from the one room to the other, which was a totally different layout and find the bathroom has a bathtub where you have to lift your leg extremely high (which my mother cannot do), not a step into a shower as I was told. Then, I wanted to utilize the free internet and when I put my name and room number as requested, I was denied access. I called the front desk and was told I probably wouldn't be able to use the internet because "Employee of the Month" didn't know how to change the reservation from the wrong room I was initially assigned. I was meeting my sister and 87 year old mother there to spend the night and travel on to Port Huron, MI for a "Celebration of Life" for my mother's 91 year old brother who had recently passed away. The reservation was for 3 people. There were not enough towels for 3 people nor were there sheets for the pullout sofa. So again, I had to call the front desk. They brought linens up quickly so I will give them credit for that. I had asked when I checked in if it would be a problem to reserve the room for an additional night if we decided to come back to Findlay on our way back to VA and KY, and was told it should not be a problem. So, the next morning we stopped by the front desk to notify them that we would like to keep the room and I was told since it was a "deluxe suite" we had to pay $139, instead of the $101 I had reserved the room for. When I questioned the cost and told the clerk that it had been their mistake that they did not have the handicap accessible room available that I had confirmed when my reservation was made, and I was moved to this room b/c the "Employee of the Month" didn't know how to 1) change my room reservation in the system and 2) couldn't recall which rooms were handicap accessible; plus, I was assured that the shower was one my mother could walk into with her walker, which according to EOM they did not have. I didn't feel I should be penalized for the higher rate. The clerk held steadfast so I gave in and paid the higher rate. I asked if a rollaway could be placed in the room as my sister, who had slept with my mother the night before, didn't get much sleep. I was assured that would be no problem. I informed her that we would be gone all day so if they could get the rollaway into the room before we returned that evening that would be great. We returned that evening, and 1) our key cards would not let us into the building, so I had to go to the front desk and have then re-activated. Then, 2) we get to the room and there is no rollaway bed so I had to call the front desk again for that. If it had only been 1 issue, I would not have left a negative review. However, since it was issue after issue, and I was not told when I asked if we would be able to stay a 2nd night that the rate would be $28 higher, I felt totally blindsided, especially when it was their fault for not assigning me the correct room to begin with. I will not stay here again nor will I recommend it to anyone. I have been a Marriott stockholder for years and have never been this disappointed with the overall service and issues.
I had made reservations through Expedia, but for some reason they cancelled them. The desk clerk said that happens all the time and she was able to get me into the motel. So great staff!!!!! The location is close to shopping and upscale restaurants.
We were traveling through Findlay with two, one year old twins. We selected the TownePlace Suites because of the larger studio style rooms with kitchen. The hotel was crowded in public areas but hallway noise and outside noise was never heard when in the room. The blackout curtains are great and kept the room dark for early bedtimes and after sunrise wake up. The bed was comfortable, clean and had ample pillows. We requested to Pack and plays for the room in advance of our arrival and they were in the room when we arrived. This would have been a five star review but for the following items: 1) Pack and plays were not setup in the room when we arrived which we have become accustomed to at other Marriott properties. Also a bed sheet was not provided for the mattress which other hotels have provided. We did not request a sheet as we travel with two covers of our own. 2) The air conditioner in the room was dirty in the vent area. Our girls liked the blowing air and when I went to retrieve them I noticed spots on the vents. It could have been dust but it also could have been mold. 3) There was one waffle maker in the breakfast room which had a line through breakfast. A second maker could make people happier and ease the line. Also breakfast had no warm items like pre-made egg omelets or heat and eat sausage. It's a continental breakfast with waffles, oatmeal, juice, coffee, yogurt, and bagels. Overall I would recommend a stay here as the negatives were not real deal breakers. It was comfortable and for the most part clean. The staff was courteous and professional.
This is my third time staying here. I love it here. Staff is wonderful. Room was very clean. Breakfast was great. I am from Texas and one breakfast morning there was only turkey sausage. I asked the staff and she made me some pork sausage special. Now that is customer service.
I don't understand ANY negative reviews on this place, I guess for some they need utter perfection however I couldn't find anything wrong with this place? If you stay at fancy fancy places then perhaps you could find fault... but I'm well traveled with all kinds of places and I've stayed in some roach motels traveling across MI, OH, and IL for way more than I paid here. I will say I got an incredible deal on priceline (it was a mystery until booked at 60/night) so I wasn't sure but had some idea of based on the star rating and my knowledge of Findlay. This place is very well kept, and the full size kitchen was awesome and all updated, granite countertops, new appliances, quiet, pet friendly, awesome deep tub in the full bath, very clean and all seems new to me...nice open stairwell if you aren't a elevator person and breakfast included. We are enjoying our stay so far, and if you aren't sure, don't hesitate. $50 pet fee for the entire stay which was pretty good as some it's a flat rate of 25/night.
I have stayed here four times on business for up to 10 days. The property is clean, well maintained, and is in a convenient location with groceries and other shopping nearby. The staff is consistently professional and very friendly. Rooms have a small but full kitchen with adequate dishes and utensils, oven with broiler capacity and refrigerator with freezer. There is no ice maker in the freezer but there is an ice machine near the lobby. Great choice for an extended stay if you are coming to the lovely city of Findlay!

Lori Bowling GM has trained positively her Guest care providers (Shy-Anne/Best Guest Care ever) to be professionnally grounded with politeness, devotion, hospitality, patience and discipline in a clean, safe and secured hotel. This hotel in its environment is quiet. This hotel met the necessary requirements in terms of good hotels. We can recommend this hotel to most distinguished guests (Governments Officials, Lawyers/Judges, Academics/Faculty Members, Students Graduation Functions/Junior Achievment Programs, Church Fellows Ceremonies, including Corporate Executives...)
Nice place good location. Clean and efficient like you should expect from Marriott brand. Breakfast is smaller than most but since rooms have full kitchens, you could cook your own breakfast. Place is reasonably priced.
