This is a modern and very comfortable condo in a well maintained and quiet condo complex on Duck Lake near Eagle River, WI. My wife and two adult children enjoyed one week of vacation here in mid August. There is a close by supermarket for convenience. All of the furnishings are top quality. There is ample space in the kitchen for 2-3 people to prepare meals. Kitchen is well equipped with quality utensils, pot and pans, dishes etc. Beds are good, excellent showers.
The drawback is the lake. It is not good for swimming. The bottom is muck and visibility in the water is virtually nil. We went swimming in the middle of the lake off a rented pontoon boat. The water is refreshing, but not at all clear. No loons we’re sighted on this lake, but there are about 40 large geese. They come ashore and poop on the grounds of the condo complex. I think they have affected the loon population negatively. Duck Lake is one of a chain of 10-12 lakes each accessible by boat, usually through a no-wake channel. We enjoyed exploring the chain, especially Waters Meet Lake where we ventured the down stream channel of the Wisconsin River. It was very peaceful and quiet there and the swimming was good. We were disappointed the indoor swimming pool was closed at the complex.
I know the owners and management can’t control the lake quality, but they could put more effort into controlling the geese. I chased the geese back into the water on three different occasions and after that they did not return.
We had a nice meal at Chef Rene’s at Eagle River Inn
