great location, friendly staff, great valet and the Rugby grill is outstanding

Could not get internet access despite calling in the issue

Room over rock band. Asked for refund and was refused.

Luxury suite booked. Claimed it sleeps 4. Upon arrival it has 1 king bed. We had to order roll away at additional charge for the three of us staying in room. Sofa was not a pull out. Reservation was made for 3 and at turn down service...only 1 chocolate was left, 1 small bottle of water and the roll away wasn’t even set up. The tv remote didn’t work in the living room so we had to call maintenance as well. No extra blankets. It was disappointing but location was great. We did afternoon tea which was nice.

Great hotel, great location! Wonderful staff! Try the warm cookies!

I think that the Townsend Hotel should be granted 5 stars and not 4. I was just in New York in mid town in a 5 stars hotel, which to me does not deserve even a 3 stars, everything was awful, and my stay there was ruined with all the complaint I had. While in the Townsend everything was smooth, courteous staff, clean and quiet rooms. the room I had,#450 was like a suite. the beautiful lobbies are clean, and nicely decorated and it is an attempt to sit and have drink in that atmosphere. The doormen and the valet parking staff were very professional. Congratulation for your excellent service.

Great location in the middle of down town Birmingham. Ate our first meal in the hotel and refused to consider anyplace else for the rest of our stay Overall wonderful experience.

This place is amazing. Think Ritz Carlton and Trumps service and style with added customized perfection at every turn. The two front desk staff are literally amazing. I was speechless as I watched them bend over backwards to accommodate me and other guests. I'm still speechless and I will be back. Excellent job. I highly recommend the suite in room 211. Ask for it by name. This is truly a special place.

The Hotel is excellent, friendly staff, beautiful room. The location is in the heart of everything, but with it comes difficulty getting in and out of the hotel.

The hotel location and amenities are amazing! What a wonderful place to stay for a romantic getaway! Great places to shop and eat at. Will definitely return!

This is by far the best hotel i stayed at in a long time, very European like, location is great

We really enjoyed our stay at the Townsend. Short walk from downtown and the hotel was top notch.

This hotel was perfect for business! After a long day of work it was great to have a bath robe laid out along with chocolates and music. It was perfect!

it's like you don't even know you are in detroit - quite a place

The Townsend is a classic hotel that provides superior service. The staff is simply excellent. Especially the lady at check in that looks like the movie star Cameron Diaz.

This place is very elegant. Service is great and the rooms are amazing. Me and my girlfriend stayed a night in one of the suites and it was very cozy. We could've spent the entire night in the room and not gone out on a date and been quite satisfied. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to have a special get away or to anyone who could afford it on a regular basis.

I told them at the front desk at checking in that we just got engaged. Later that night, we came home to our room with complementary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and a hand-written note. That's above and beyond! Everything was great, including the surrounding area. It's worth the money to stay.

Very nice, enjoyed our stay. Great location, in the heart of downtown Birmingham.

Hotel was great, somewhere we'd always wanted to stay. Birmingham landmark, pricey but worth staying there once or for a special occasion.
