I would tell all my friends and family how much fun I had at the Hawthorn Suites to come back to enjoy birthdays anniversaries and just because days the hospitality the respect Meijer to comfort of the peace that they gave me yes I will come back anytime of the day anytime of the week and anytime of the month and year after year

Central a.c. made my stay worth every penny. It was a little loud on the weekends. Overall it was great. Free continental breakfast and free dinner Monday through friday. I did have a problem getting double billed but the manger faxed my credit card and it was cleared up in a few days.

My husband booked it, that's how - and he's not so good with remembering the names of places. The last time we stayed in Detroit, we stayed at the TownePlace Suites on Mercury Drive and it was great. He thought that's where he was booking us, but it wasn't so. So, we braced ourselves for the worst. The room itself wasn't too bad. The one thing I would recommend is that they show housekeeping how to fold towels because sloppily hung towels could be an indication that they've been used and that's, well, ewww. Everything else in the room was okay. Not the cleanest, not modern, but okay. The biggest issue with this hotel was the noise and disorderly conduct that seems to occur constantly around the grounds. Also, the first night, there were people above us fighting into the wee hours of the night. The second night, there were people outside screaming at and pushing each other to the point where I had to call the front desk, who sent security out. The front desk personnel were pleasant and helpful, which is one of the reasons I hate to give this hotel only 2 stars. We had a good experience in terms of customer service. The bottom line is that this hotel is not quiet and is not family-friendly. In fact, I cringed thinking of the kids who were hearing the same things we were. I think if this hotel would keep someone outside walking the grounds and keeping their eyes and ears on things, this could be a decent place to stay.

The outside is very nice and the inside also it was like a little home but the customer service was okay didn't show us to our room but we found it okay.

Was very clean was a nice stay. Only problem I had was the legs on bed were broke on one end and your head was lower than your feet. And breakfast on Sunday was disappointing, toaster was missing no waffle batter.

Seems this place use to be an apt. Bldg./project and some of the tenants are still there. The room was clean but the furniture was old and worn, t v didn't work, staff was not helpful. Noise control is unheard of. People loud talking, yelling, popping off what seems to be firecrackers until 4am. Noisy disrespectful kids everywhere. A guest left in the middle of the night.

Pros: pool, good a/c Cons: unhelpful staff, gross carpet, outdated furniture, filthy walls, plugs won't even stay in the outlets, unusable pull-out bed, parking lot filled with loud people/cars/music every night.

There could have been an official 2 bedroom suite but there was a pull-down bed in the dining room, I guess? And the furniture needs to be upgraded, especially for the price being paid for the suite. You had to get up and manually change the television because the remote controls did not work for either of the tvs. This is something that could be fixed easily and immediately. Other than that, it was okay.

Older facility that could use some upgrades and refurbishment. The mattress was terrible! Staff was very good and helpful. Breakfast was good.

We had a very good experience here. Service, food, and room were all excellent. No complaints. We will be back again on our next visit to the Detroit area.
