Wedding
We were staying for a family wedding. It would be nice to have a table to seat everyone at once. Some family came over to grill hotdogs and hamburgers, but the charcoal grill (which is mentioned on the website) was locked up. We had to cook them on the stove, both messy and time consuming. 1 tiny baking sheet, limited plates in the cupboard, a kitchen sink we had to figure out on our own. One of the king beds is way too far off the ground for regular people. How about clearing the sidewalk and driveway when the house is cleaned. We were rolling on them. It looks like they haven’t been cleared all summer.
Leave a broom available. One lamp in the living room (the one where the knob isn’t there) had a lightbulb just sitting on it, not screwed in. It fell and shattered but there was nothing to clean it up with. We improvised. If we were staying there for a week I would have been pissed. Any guest may sometimes need to sweep up a mess. It is a great house, but needs some basic sense in setting up. I would probably look elsewhere next time I am visiting family there. For what we paid it I think we could do better. VRBO rentals used to feel warm and cozy, with nice personal touches. It felt very corporate and cold.
