Red Roof Inn Dalton2.0 out of 5.0

We were driving home to Florida from Ohio after evacuating due to Hurricane Irma. After driving 14 hours, we hit the front end of Irma (now a tropical storm). We were exhausted and stressed and just couldn't drive any further. We pulled off the highway and parked, meaning to get a few hours of sleep before we continued driving. This didn't work as we had pets in the car who were also stressed and letting us know about it. We were worried we would be unable to find a hotel room with our pets, but we called Red Roof Inn and they gave us a room with no problem. It was after midnight and we were so relieved to get a break from the drive.I think our pets were happy to be out of the car as well. The room had a comfortable king sized bed, a microwave, a mini fridge, and a coffee maker. Everything was clean and updated. The cost of the room also included breakfast. It wasn't a spectacular breakfast, just danish and waffles and coffee, but it was ok and saved us from getting breakfast on the road. There is a grassy area in the back for dog walking. There are also a picnic table and grill, which looked a little worse for wear, but we didn't need to use them.
Cost of this room $140 during the Hurricane Irma evalucation. That is what everyone was paying. Room 127 is very run down. There is an upholstered chair is very dirty. The arms were gray from the dirt buildup.Furniture worn and chipped in places. The bathroom looked clean however there was a very bad stale urine smell around the toilet. Pillows were flat. They should just stop serving breakfast. Parking spaces unbelieveably small. If you have a SUV..you will have trouble parking. Only reason I gave it a 1 is that the coffee was ok. Stacks of old TV's under stairway..had been there a while as very dusty. There were chairs outside some of the room with ashtrays full of cigarette butts. Some of their outside lights are out. Will never stay here again and would not recommend anyone else to.
Worst smelling room in all my travels. We have a small poodle and I realize we got a pet room but no excuse for the musty smell. I don't believe the carpet had been changed since it was built! We had a 9 hour drive to get to Dalton and was so tired had we of checked the room we would have asked for our money bsck and went elsewhere
This is a nicely run location that is being renovated up to standards comparable to higher class properties. It is surrounded by restaurants such as Cracker Barrel, Waffle House and several fast food locations within safe walking distance. Front desk staff are great. Value is good. It is a regular return destination for me due to its location to my working area.
Checked in only for 1 night on my way to Tennessee. This hotel was very clean, rooms, front desk area, grounds ect...continental breakfast was fresh as well. plenty of places to eat around the hotel...not a big hotel but very well maintained. Beds were comfortable as well.
The breakfast made my girlfriend and I sick, and we had to check out late. (They accomodated us for the late checkout, at least.) Other than that, it is an average room, very clean, comfortable, good wifi.
very nice and comfortable beds. Restaurants close by.wifi pool and breakfast enjoyed every thing. Front desk people were very nice.room was clean.very nice little place.would like to stay here again if traveling this way.
This place is the worst!!! First of all the clerk Ashard was the worst! He was rude and short. Then he gave us a room that the TV didnt work. Had us stand in the rain til he sent a 90 yr old to tell him we wasn't lying. Second room was not only smokey but was nasty!!! So when we complained about that he had the nerve to tell us.." This is the last time I will switch"!!! Third room..the carpet was wet near bathroom and molded. Break at dawn we was out!!!!
My wife and I stayed at the red roof for one night only (on our way down to Florida) Just a pit stop, Cheep so no real complaints, One night is enough. Staff were spot on, Decent breakfast, Room was ok,
I was in a pickle last night driving a large truck and trailer towing my classic cars from up north to Florida. I needed a large parking lot with adequate turn around space and all of the better hotels lacked a large lot. I parked my truck and trailer in the adjacent lot - Waffle House - the hotel said it was their lot to use. The Red Room Inn looked clean from the road in the dark. The office seemed clean too when I checked in. As I went up the stairs to my room I started seeing a not so tidy facility. The exterior had lots of chipped paint, large areas of overspray, and sub par exterior construction. The door jambs were section 8 looking. When I entered the room I noticed greasy or oily foot prints in what looked like fairly new carpet. The rest of the room appeared clean, below average quality furniture and no name fixtures, soaps, towels etc. It was basic accommodations. The bed was acceptable, the first time I remember looking for bed bugs, all clean. The fabrics on the chair in the room and bed spread looked like something you would find in a Marriott. It poured all night and I could hear it thru the old windows and the parking lot was mouser than I am used to at Marriott's. It served its purpose for 7 hours - clean enough room for $69, however I prefer to pay a little more for a little nicer hotel, think Marriott. Not for me...maybe for you?
