As more people decide to travel with their pet, it is becoming increasingly important for a city to offer great pet-friendly hotels as well as activities where you can bring your four-legged friend. Many people choose Cleveland in Ohio as their next destination to travel with a pet and that for good reason. Cleveland is nicknamed The Forest City. It is also home to some awesome pet-friendly hotels. Now, all you have got to figure out is where to take your pet once you get there.
A lovely loop trail with great views of the lake and city can be found at The Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve, where both you and your pet will be able to relax. If you are up for spending a full day outdoors, just a rental car and a half hour drive away, you will find the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It will treat you to over 100 miles of trails and serenity to enjoy for you and your furry friend.
In the Cleveland Metroparks, you can enjoy more than 100 hiking trails in their many nature reservations. The trails cover the parks 23,000 acres in a variety of terrains and lengths, so you are guaranteed to find a trail that fits you and your pet’s activity levels.
It is not a hike, but definitely worth a mention: Tremont Park near Great Lakes Science Center is Cleveland’s first unleashed Dog Park. Here, your dog can run around freely with fellow canines, while you sit back and relax on one of the benches around the park.
