Barsala Roaches, damaged, filthy don't stay here!

The place was damaged with holes in the walls, they had closet doors laying against the wall and to top it off the kitchen was dirty along with ROACHES crawling on the walls and one was on the bed. I've never been more mortified and disgusted by a property.

Property is worn and in need of repair, no A/C, spotty wifi, all 3 elevators non-functional/had to use service elevator or stairs, human feces in stairwell.

The property was not well Maintained. Broken towel Holder, ripped leather sofa, sticky floor, soap scum in bathtub. Dishes and glasses in cupboard did not appear clean. Elevators needed cleaned also.

Terrible Experience!!

First off I couldn't get into the building to get my key fob because the security guard was asleep. This by the way, was the only time I actually saw a security guard the entire rest of my stay. The key fob machine wasn't working so I had to call the manager. The room was nothing like the pictures! The toilet had human waste in it and there was a terrible stench in the room, the hallway, and the community center 12 floors under ours. The communication with the Barsala team was good but they didn't do anything to accommodate my complaints.

The apartment was perfect, everything as stated , very nice and clean. I used the gym and it was great. The location of the apartment is super, walking distance to everything in downtown. The building although looks like is falling apart! the elevators are in bad condition , stairways to parking are dirty and super bad conditions as well as corridors.

Overall great stay

Staff was very responsive through text messaging. Location was great- very walkable to many bars and restaurants. The property was updated as much as it could be seeing it’s an older building. Cleanliness is about the same- it was clean but it’s an older building. Parking garage was scary but attached and cheap- which was a great bonus. Sometimes parking in cities is very expensive and adds a lot to the cost of the trip. Not for this one. We both agreed if visiting again, we would highly consider this property.

Good but need more attention to details

I was very excited to stay here based on the hotels.com reviews. However, if you look on other websites the reviews are horrendous. That being said i think i was looking for items more so than usual. The Luckman is an old building and has been apparently renovated. From first glance the Renos are pretty and modern. However, you can def tell that some things were done on the cheap and it’s starting to show. However, the furnishings were new and nice, the view was spectacular and it’s in a great part of the city within walking distance of most things. Self check in was a breeze. Customer service was very quick to respond. I believe Barsala is trying to turn this building around but it’s hard when you don’t have eyes on every apt at all times. Housekeeping could have done a better job. The garage door to the parking was broken and a resident told us to go in through the out door. Only decaf coffee supplied. It was little things that could have been better but it was a great location, no bugs or anything like that and an excellent price. Beds were super comfy as well! Spoke to a few full time residents and their experience was vastly different. Not sure if barsala just does the apts for rent thing or manages the entire building.

Excellent! Despite the lack of a hotel staff, Barsala makes it feel like full service. A light bulb was out, I sent an SMS and 15 min. later maintenance had fixed it! I really liked the way they made sure everything was going ok with the stay by sending me SMS just to make sure. And that's not even to mention the wonderful value - clean and tons of space, completely reasonable pricing.
