The hotel was perfect for what I needed...a place to sleep for one night close to Carver Hawkeye Arena. That said, hotel is dated & not in the best of repair. Staff who checked me in didn't seem to have a clue how to do it & took quite some time to get me processed. Manager came to the desk to help carrying food in her hand & chewing. Greeted me by talking with her mouth full.

Well, upon entering the lobby, it smelled like marijuana. However, my room did not so that was good. There was a person in the lobby and I think was a guest but could’ve been a employee. Otherwise it was fine.
The toilet was not working properly. Very slow to flush. I ha dto hold the handlw down for 20 seconds to flush and and had to do three times to removed all wastes.
All was good but breakfast was empty by 9:00am :(
Cigarettes butts every where
We couldn’t sleep because of all the noise in the hallway and creaking from the room upstairs. You could hear every word, noise, and step. The condition of the hotel is extremely poor. Lots of stains and cracks in the ceiling, broken toilet in the restroom, and cracked tiles. The outdated bed sheets smelled musty and of smoke. Carpet was gross and felt like it hadn’t been vacuumed. There were limited plug ins for our electronic devices. Room service didn’t do much for cleaning - didn’t empty trash or anything like that. They just changed bed sheets. Not worth the over $400 we spent for a two night stay, in our opinion.
I wish they had breakfast service.
The room (on the ground level) was a bit musty, but otherwise the check-in went well, and considering it was sold out in a college town, I was expecting to experience some noise from other guests, but was perfectly quiet. The value was there, and a new restaurant with great food and drinks was a one-minute walk down the sidewalk.
Charging unconventional $50.00 deposit at registration shows poor "etiquette" of respect to the patrons!
There was bed bugs in the first room theh game me it was room 129 and i couldnt sleep at all that day so i was up for 16hrs. I think i shoild get a a free room after that Saturday at 6pm they gave me another room it was room 228 but with the experience i jad of friday u think i can fell asleep i have pictures video to prove it
Have used property before and will use again. Always have had satisfaction in service provided and will continue stay at this location for my trips East.
Out of all the hotels I have stayed i like this one more
The staff was friendly and helpful. I felt safe and it is in a convenient location. The room was clean. I got what I expected with a Super 8. I did have several obvious spots of peeling paint from the ceiling in my room. There were even some paint chunks on the floor and on the bedside table. Also, I'm not sure if it is the cleaner they use, but the smell in the hallway was unpleasant.
Property available during graduation weekend location about 2 miles from University of Iowa campus. Room was clean but the hallway smelled of smoking and not very inviting.

Ma'am it was his second day and yes I stepped away for a few minutes to try and eat something, when he needed help I came to help my hand was covering my mouth the entire time I was chewing. sorry for any inconvenience you may have suffered.

I am very sorry about the smell we really try to find the guests that are doing that and remove them.

I sincerely apologize for this, we are currently working on up coming renovations, I will share this with the team so that we do not have any more instances like this in the future.

I am glad to see you had a good stay. We do try to make sure breakfast stays stocked up for the duration and I am sorry if we slipped on keeping it filled.
