Great location, walking distance to the beach and the waterfront. Having free bikes available was a game changer, although they need to be better maintained, got a flat and had to walk home, and brakes on other bikes were iffy. Guest appreciation was also nice with drinks and appetizers. Now the not so good, beds in 217 were way too soft, have had backaches since day one at the hotel. Room needs more character, a few pictures on wall and please clean and change out the curtains, they look tired. Kitchen utensils were straight out of a college dorm, need upgrades there as well. Pool was way too cold mid 70s at best, should be between 80-85, especially at this time of year with highs of 70. Walkways need a good power washing, change out bright spotlights by pool with something more cool and soothing. Clean up area behind the hotel, looked like leftover crap left behind so you didn’t want to open curtains behind beds. Need more sound deadening between rooms, heard a crying baby for several hours. This is not a 3.5 star hotel, more like 2.5. Was expecting more for a 3.5 rating, so might want to downgrade yourself to be in line with what you are, a nice enough refurbished motel. Pool area could use some upgrades, would be great to fix the fountain by the hot tub, paint the hot tub (looks very worn), and put up a faux grass wall against building next door, looks horrible with just a brown wall. It’s those types of touches that will get you to three stars and above.
