Not a four star hotel, but it was fine for one day! Let’s start with the positive: LOCATION was fantastic, right next to the R train and walkable to everything in midtown. Great view. Super comfortable bed, sheets, and pillows. TV worked. Clean room. Quiet from within (NYC street noise is a given.) Easy check in and check out. Now the reasons I can only give three stars: There was one working elevator on my side of the building, which meant there was always a line and a wait to use the elevator. Thankfully I was only on floor 6, so my hotel room became a 6 floor walk-up (100 steps!) if I didn’t want to wait for the elevator. It was inconvenient but fine for me, but if anyone had mobility issues, time constraints, or paid to rent a room on a higher floor, this would be awful. The hotel should divulge this upon booking. My room had a broken hair-dryer, which vibrated and made loud noises when turned on. I turned it in to the front desk and had a new one delivered to the room. There was no hair conditioner in my shower, which I unfortunately did not realize until I was in the shower, so it was too late to ask for it to be refilled. I specifically booked a hotel with a bathtub, but, when I went to fill the tub, the water coming out of the faucet was brown. I have video footage of this. It did not feel like a 4-star hotel experience. It was fine for my one night stay, but I would not want to stay here again.

Some elevators were being worked on so made for long waits and/or packed rides. Should have worked on one elevator at a time not multiple.

I loved the property and the location but the elevators were broken and so the backup waiting was noticeable.

The lack of working elevators was an inconvenience. There was signage asking for patience as they are being repaired and what were the busy times. Other than that a good place to stay. It has a nice lobby and is located a few blocks from Times Square and Central Park.

The property itself was awesome. Modern and very clean. You definitely cannot check in until 4pm, even if they say you might be able to earlier. We actually had to ask for the manager eventually due to a very rude employee checking us in. The area is great, walking distance from so many great places.

The rooms could use some updating and I didn't like that there was only one working elevator (that was annoying)

It goes without saying that until the elevator problem is solved, this hotel has to be considered a difficult stay. The staff is aware of the problem and you can tell they're tired of taking the brunt of the complaints that must continue all day and night. Also, in a major downtown hotel one expects in-room coffee. Taking a very long and frustrating elevator ride to and from your room for a $5 cup of okay coffee is not a plus.

The bathroom drape smells like an old molded rotten stinky piece of S!!! Longer waits with elevators

Park Central made our stay feel like we were at home. Awesome location, great rooms that were very clean, the doormen were amazing, and the Concierge was ver kind and gave us great advice. The front desk staff, although we only interacted with them 3 times could have been nicer, felt like we were a bother to them. We requested a fridge and it was brought up tonl our room right away, thank you!! The elevators are very frustrating because of how slow they are and only two worked. Would definitely stay here again in a heart beat!!!

Not enough elevators. Air was out in our room and we had three visits trying to fix it and had to wait until the next day to get a new room.

Missing one elevator all week. Used stairs regularly to go down and up. 100 stairs up and down Electronic phone door system did not work. Music outside was in poor choice and too loud Ice machine broken.

Great location; walking distance to Central Park and 5th Ave.

The housekeeping service was very good and the room was clean. The elevator service is utterly miserable in this hotel - most of the time we had to wait for half an hour for the elevator. Moreover a front desk night manager suddenly called the room at 5am in the morning with a threatening undertone since they forgot to take credit card details for one of the two rooms I had booked.

Abigail, it seems like you had a mixed experience at our Park Central Hotel New York. We're pleased you appreciated our prime location, comfort features, and efficient check-in/out process. However, we regret aspects left you disappointed. We understand the inconvenience of the elevator issue and apologize if it affected your stay. Hair-dryer issues were addressed right away, but we wish you had enjoyed a smooth experience initially. Upon your comments about amenities, we'll reinforce their regular checks. The issue regarding the bathtub water is concerning. This is far from the typical experience our guests usually have. We assure you immediate steps will be taken to investigate and rectify this. While we regret reading you wouldn't choose us again, we hope to change your mind in the future with a superior experience.
