The property really had a ‘resort’ feel about it. The outdoor area between the main building/lobby and the annex with the pool/parking/gym had lots of outdoor seating, eating options and pier access. Rey in the dining room was excellent and it was fun watching him interact with kids/ guests at other tables. Excellent wait staff if not easy to find these days, he’s a keeper! An early morning visit to the pool/hot tub was really pleasant as well.

First we were given a small, noisy overall bad room. Then the manager upgraded us to a suite. So we went from being very unhappy to very happy! We have stayed at the Portola for 30 plus years so this poor start to our stay was really disappointing…. But they compensated for it.

We had a wonderful time at the Portola Hotel. Room was clean. Bed and pillows need improvement. Love that check out is noon and if you need a later check out we had no issue to check out at 130. Hotel staff was very friendly
