Loved the 2BR suite. It was perfect. The mattress was incredibly comfortable. Only complaint is the showerhead in the primary bathroom had very little pressure. The smaller bedroom curtain over the sliding door let in so much light, it was hard to sleep in the morning.

The staff was very attentive and courteous. We were upgraded to a condo with a water view. It was very nice. You can walk the Brikell area, very urban but felt completely safe doing it.
The employees are very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is very nice and safe. Beyond that I think Fortune House is extremely overpriced for what it offered. If I go to the trouble to rent an apartment as opposed to a hotel then I expect the apartment to have minimal equipment stocked in it. This apartment had 4 utensils, a few pots but no baking pans for the oven. There were no kitchen knives (cutting/sharp) knives, no vegetable peeler, no serving dishes, no hot mitts, no broom and dustpan. Additionally, other than the set of sheets on the bed, there were no blankets to use, no sofa pillows and we were given 2 bath towels - - no extras. There is no place in the tub to set toiletries The pots, pans and cooking utensils were so cheap. It made cooking something as simple as scrambled eggs a challenge. All the finishes in the apartment (Unit 1502) were very low end and showing wear. The dishwasher was installed so poorly that it took some maneuvering to get it to run because when you close it, it wouldn't lock and run a cycle. Finally, the pool and spa facilities are not open past sundown. As a tourist in Miami, I am out all day and would like to come back to the hotel/apartment at night and relax in the pool & hot tub. The gym, sauna and steam shower are available at night but the sauna never heats up to a temp that would be useful. I used it 3 times. Each time I let the sauna heat up for 30 minutes prior to entering and NEVER broke a sweat. Pointless!
Great location and nice suite size.
The room was actually a 1-bedroom apartment, very clean, and with kitchen and all kitchenware for travelers who prefer to cook their food. There is even a laundry washer/dryer. Excellent location. The personnel was OK. Negatives: 1) the price is higher than what you pay on Orbitz (by almost $30) and does not include breakfast, like in most hotels; 2) thermostat is only for show - you cannot adjust temperature, and there is no way to raise the temperature if you feel cold; 3) the comforter weighs a ton; guests with weaker knees can easily get hurt; 4) there is no radio with alarm clock; 5) they don't provide a TV channel guide, so, good luck finding your preferred channel!; 6) They don't provide a pen and post-it; 7) Don't expect the typical continental breakfast (included in the room price) where you go and grab a fruit, omelet, bagels, or yogurt; it is a restaurant set-up and it is expensive, with long wait; 8) Don't agree to have the receipt e-mailed to you after stay - they don't send it - ask for the print-out; 9) Even the little folding luggage rack was missing - I had to put the suitcase on the floor. Overall, the negatives weigh far more than the positives. Overall, not a good experience.
