Service staff were good however check in was a mess. Despite arriving early and being checked in without being giving room numbers. When we came back at 15.00 only one room was ready. I was assured that both rooms were in same floor. So we proceeded to go out and get the other room upon return. Only to find I was allocated a room on the 2nd floor instead of the 6th along with the family. 2nd floor is far to close to the street and was not what I was told. Reception desk were of no help when questioned in this and just blamed their colleagues for the mistake. No apology made. For five star this was poor service considering I booked two room and only to have one available in the first instance. Especially again since i had just spent over 300 euro for an afternoon tea in the terrace. Room service did not answer either when called several times.

Handy location for Piccadilly. All three rooms that we booked were too hot (in March - would hate to stay in summer). No extractor in bathrooms so showers heated up room further. Very creaky floorboards. Opened the window overnight Saturday but woken at 7am by 7am bottle bank bins being emptied. Could not access main bar area Saturday night due to private party.

Housekeeping department is a bit complacent leaving vacuum cleaners and service trays in the hallway for convenience .. but it gives an air of discount hotel .. which is surprising considering the price and location. Also, after theee requests, I ended up having to go to lobby just to get a Do Not Disturb sign, which was missing from the room. However, it’s still my preferred hotel for its location to the theatres. Hope they step it up at housekeeping. Oh, and 24-hour gym is unbeatable. And doormen always the friendliest!
