Great beds (unexpected) and daily good maid service
Fantastic history, great staff, and wonderful rooms!
The hotel is amazing! Especially if you love historic buildings. The room was cozy and the service is impeccable. Just remember you’re there for the nostalgia.
Because it was still kinda winter the A/C didn’t work you do not have control over heat or cool mode, only the temperature, depending on what mode the hotel has it in. TV is very small. The location is great and is around everything, beautiful hotel
Room was chilly but we understand it is an old heating system. Beautiful rooms and lobby and fun experience.
The hotel is in great shape for its age. Nice rooms, Everything was set up great.
Steam locomotive was 2 blocks away, which can be loud at times
I greatly enjoy the old west feel, as well as the bars and restaurants on the property. The Mahogany Grill is an excellent restaurant.

Great check in, great location, great hotel
The hotel is an historic property so you expect smaller rooms and bathrooms, but there is far too much furniture in the rooms. We stayed in 2 different rooms, 2 different nights and we were just cramped by the furniture. Though the pieces were beautiful! The most disappointing thing was that the restaurants and bar were closed 2 of the 3 days we were in Durango, due to short staffing. We heard this story all over Durango. Very frustrating to not know about the closures, prior to arrival. The check in our first night was wonderful- the second night we checked in the young girl at the front desk was abrupt and un-welcoming. You are the first face of the hotel service team- be nice.
Very accommodating with oversized parking
Well updated, pristine historic hotel!
Shower head too low and shower too small.
