While the view was wonderful, the features are lacking. The floor boards on the balcony flexed enough to feel unsafe. The restaurant at the lodge is only open for dinner, forcing us to drive a couple of minutes to the nearby cafeteria for breakfast. The vegetarian options for lunch at the cafeteria are too limited. WiFi was extremely difficult and frustrating to connect to, but once connected was ok (until we left the site and it disconnected again). It’s weird that they couldn’t give us two room keys. The water was plumbed incorrectly, with hot on the right at the sink, and the shower knob starting at hot, going to cold.

Breathtaking view
It was so peaceful and beautifully located. The view was breathtaking. I highly recommend that if visiting Mesa Verde stay in the park.

Old and tired.
The lodge definitely has some age on it. everything creaks and rattles. the walls are paper thin. you can everything your neighbors are doing. the window was leaky so there was a constant whistling. the bathroom is so tiny and they should have hung the shower door the other way. as it was once you open the shower door you can not access the rest of the bathroom. so if you left your towel on the other side of the door you are stuck! also, there was no TV in the room. literally, nothing to do after dark. Overall it was okay for a $60 price range. but not the premium price you pay for the room. We reserved the room for 2 nights, but decided to leave after the first night despite not being able to get our money back.

The location and scenery is amazing. The staff are very responsive. Plan ahead for limited food and accommodations. Wi-Fi is limited and no tv in the rooms. The small rooms with oversized furniture make you feel cramped. Perfect for a one night stay.
