We arrived at the restaurant for the tapas and the restaurant knew nothing about us - and the fact that we had prepaid for a meal (including drinks). After half an hour, a phone call to Expedia (which has probably cost me a small fortune), a visit from the rep and we finally got ‘fed’. But food of very little value - we worked it out to be about €15 a head! (We had seen the menu). Along with the cheapest bottle of wine. And even this was a ‘chore’ as we had to keep asking for ‘more’. Which was met with tuts and plate slamming by the restaurant manager and the waiter. Really made us feel uncomfortable. The flamenco show afterwards however was FANTASTIC. It certainly ‘recovered’ the awful evening and made the double celebration of a birthday and valentines better. We would do the flamenco show again without a doubt (& Alicante is a beautiful city that we definitely want to visit again). But we will NEVER set food in La Casona Alicantina Restaurant again.
