Pros: We stayed in one of the beachfront bungalows and had our own private beach access, lounge chairs, even hammocks. The room looked nice and the bed was comfortable; toilet was separate from sinks and shower, which always helps with 2 people. THUMP THUMP THUMP Cons: The hotel next door plays really loud music from mid-afternoon until midnight or 2am, depending on the night. It's not Maya's fault, but the sound carries over the beach. We chose to go to Tulum because we heard it was quieter than Cancun, but this is unfortunately in the party district. THUMP THUMP THUMP I was able to tune out the music with ear plugs, but this meant that there was no falling asleep to the sound of the waves. My spouse had a harder time with it and had to take sleep aids because the THUMP THUMP THUMP was driving them insane. The lighting in the room is very ambient and relaxing at night, but there is almost no light by the bathroom mirror. THUMP THUMP THUMP If you want to put on makeup or shave, leave the room and find one of the random mirrors gracing the grounds around the hotel. At night, forget it. The restaurant turned us away at 5pm when they close at 6, told us to come back at 8. When we got food at 9 it was cold and underwhelming. If the THUMP THUMP THUMP in this review drives you nuts, look for a different hotel.

We enjoyed the beautiful rooms and location of Delek. It's at the center of everything and close to the buzzworthy restaurants. It is loud at night because of this, but it didn't bother us. The beachfront is a dream.

Great Plunge Pool room

I can't wait to visit Secrets again! My friends and I had an amazing and unforgettable time. From the time we stepped onto the resort to being greeted by the staff throughout our visit, to the multiple food options - nothing was missed! The master suite was such a treat with a wide swim out pool, which was a space of refuge for me. I'm already planning my next stay!

Beautiful common areas at RIU Palace and the service is unbeatable! We have been coming to this resort for many years.

Clean property, good water pressure , nice views , great food options , would like the pool to be open much later , I think 6 pm is too early

The staff were always very helpful and kind. The breakfast buffet may seem expensive, but it's worth $30 for the variety of traditional Mexican foods and attentive service while enjoying a great view of the ocean. The property is well kept though a bit dated and rooms are spacious. You can access the ocean right in front of the resort by walking down concrete steps, but we walked a few minutes to the beach on either side of the property to enjoy a more traditional beachfront. It's an easy walk to many good restaurants and a grocery store. We cooked at least one meal a day in our little kitchen. One area that could be improved is pool cleanliness. The water looked stagnant in some areas in the mornings and our toddler kept on getting dirty streaks on his swimsuit, which I finally figured out was from some film on the side of the pool.
