True safety of its guests is the least important priority here at the Dew Drop Inn. First off, I stayed in the Little Richard Room as per my reservation. Upon entering the room, I realized that the deadbolt and latch were both non-function-- the deadbolt did not align with its strike plate opening in the door frame and metal swing bar was falling off the frame as well. I tried everything to get them to work, but to no avail. I went to the lobby front desk to alert them of my concern, and Zana (the most wonderful, helpful woman) called the manager. The manager instructed her to try to pull the door upwards while closing, ALREADY FULLY AWARE that the door did not lock. Zana tried herself, then proceeded to try to fix the swing bar with the only tool she could find, A DRILL BIT, as there were no screwdrivers available. The manager essentially told her that there was nothing further to be done to help me, leaving me without any security that night. This hotel is not in a safe area, and guests are required to use their door key to open the building's front door PLUS the stairwell to the rooms for their safety. I did not sleep that night. I was moved only the next day, No one in management has attempted to reach out to me, even to apologize. The daily onsite staff are wonderful people working with a manager who is devoid of understanding of customer service and the importance of safety in a hotel. To the hotel owner: you can't build a business without safety FIRST!

We had an amazing experience here. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and probably the best complimentary breakfast buffet I’ve had. The location was ideal to the smoothie king, where our event was. We had a family of 4 and overall we felt safe in this area. We did the valet for a few extra $$ instead of using the parking garage next door. Definitely worth it! We will definitely be back!
