Fly to Geneva International Airport
Geneva is a beautiful city full of sights; from the quaint Old City full of antique shops, to the Jet d'Eau fountain that shoots water 140ft in the air and is lit up at night, to the St Pierre Cathedral that you can tour and even listen to free live organ performances.
Geneva also has a fantastic selection of museums, including institutions dedicated to Reformation and the Red Cross. The Seleve cable car, found just over the French border, will give visitors incredible views of the Alps and Lake Geneva.

The Paquis district offers visitors plenty of low-cost dining options. The Plaine de Plainpalais is where you can find many good bars in one area. Hotels downtown are mostly located near the Cornavin train station.
Getting around
When you fly to Geneva International Airport (GVA) you arrive just three miles from the city. The airport offers all passengers arriving a free Unireso ticket for Zone 10, which includes the city center and most of the hotels, for 80 minutes. You can find the ticket machine in the baggage reclaim.
Unireso tickets can be used on buses, trains, trams and boats, but the free ticket is only valid when presented with your boarding pass. Buses and trains depart from early morning until late night, while taxis and car rentals are also available.
