We chose the Kontiki Curaçao Beach Resort for a very special occasion — New Year’s Eve — because of its stunning location and the promise of a memorable experience. Unfortunately, the reality was deeply disappointing.
During the booking process, we specifically asked about New Year’s Eve activities at the hotel. Instead of receiving clear information, we were repeatedly reassured and told to wait. Only after our arrival were we finally informed that no reservations were possible for just two people. By then, it was far too late to make proper alternative plans.
What made this especially frustrating was the lack of responsibility taken by the hotel. Rather than offering solutions, we were simply sent a list of external links where we might possibly find something elsewhere on the island - including eye-rolling staff. Our dream of a beautiful New Year’s Eve in this resort completely fell apart.
For a hotel in this price and quality category, we expected far better service, transparent communication during the booking process, and viable options for hotel guests — especially for such an important occasion. Sadly, this experience left us feeling let down and disappointed.
