You kind of know what you're getting when you book a cheap motel, but I really wish we could do slightly better with this sort of thing. The staff was friendly and efficient when checking in and out, but the room was terrible. It smelled bad.The sheets weren't very clean. The floors were dirty. There were literally what looked like small blood stains in the sink. There was also only one electrical outlet in the room and I had to move a nightstand in order to plug in my phone charger.
All that being said, sometimes you just need a cheap place to stay and if money is your main concern, I've seen worse motels. There were no cockroaches and it looked like some small effort had been made to clean. But, if you can afford something better and you want to feel safe and slightly comfortable, just go somewhere else.
The only real upside is that there's an In-N-Out right next door. So, it gets some points for that.
