Private lakeside retreat with pool, hot tub, and sauna
Constructed in 2024, Sybil Haus is a secluded, private retreat in the heart of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes.
Sleeps 16 adults and we hope you rest well. The 3 king bedrooms have bathroom en suites. The other two bedrooms share a “jack and jill” bathroom. There is also a pull out queen sofa bed in the basement living area. And when you lay down in the primary suite, you’ll fall asleep looking at the Big Dipper out the window (or admire while sitting on the deck or pool area).
Come to Sybil Haus to relax. First check out the steam shower, sauna and adjoining shower room. Take a dip in the pool (May 1 through October 31 and then hop in the spa overlooking the lake. Don’t forget to go to the gulley for lake access where you can enjoy the refreshing water, sunrises & sunsets on the dock, a sandy beach, and fire pit. Great for kids! And before you come back in, rinse off your legs in the warm water of the outdoor shower before entering the 3-season porch tucked in between the treetops. Its leather furniture welcomes long naps, games, and conversation.
For those who like to cook and bake, the kitchen has JennAir appliances including a double oven, warming drawer, gas range, and microwave (not to mention a gas grill, all the utensils, crock pots, stock pots, a KitchenAid mixer, blender, popcorn maker, and ice cream maker). And for the entertainers, there are 3 ice-making refrigerators, and enough seating in the kitchen and dining room for everyone.
Sybil Haus encourages longer stays if you can. Work remotely with several built-in desks and high speed fiber optic internet with a mesh wifi system (1 GB down, 100 MB up aka top notch). There’s also 2 washers and 2 dryers, a Peloton, pull-up bar, ceiling fans everywhere, AC, and in-floor heat. Soak in each season. The 30mi bike path is nearby, the apple orchard is just a walk away, and lots of folks bring their snowmobiles, boats and ice fishing shanties.
Plenty to see and visit as well locally. Vergas - a town of 300 - invests in celebrations, parks and recreation, small businesses, and each other. For groceries, go to Ditterich Mercantile and Family Farm; grab a bag of their specialty popcorn. Duane is the owner and his kids work there too. Or pick up a Sybil Lake sweatshirt at The Lavish Loon and meet the owner there, Sarah. And buy your beer at Vergas Municipal Liquor Store, but make a pit stop at Billy’s (Corner Bar) first. FYI They host bingo on Thursdays at 7, and Sundays at 3, and their meat raffle is on Friday night. But the list goes on… - The Loon’s Nest (for breakfast, or lunch) - Forest Edge Gallery 🖼️ - Lost Highway Pottery 🏺🥣 - MW Pastry 😋🥐🥖 - Otter Coffee and Ice Cream 😋🍦☕️ - A Step Up Thrift 💁♀️👖🧥 - Skäl (Bar & Grill) 🇳🇴 - Elm Street Boutique (for gifts) - Sybil Lake Orchards 🍎 - Trowbridge Creek Zoo 🦓🐒🐕🐾 - Vergas Fit 💪🏼 - Blackboard (apps and dinner) - Vergas 66 ⛽️
AND make a reservation at Spankys Stone Hearth (MN supper club) before you arrive!! They have the best martinis and prime rib, and all the other feels of the North Star State!! Excellent private catering as well!! 💯
Ps Bring your dog! We have a pet washing station too! (2 dogs max)

Our stay was amazing - absolutely everything stood out as a 10/10. The hosts communicated perfectly, and they left detailed instructions for everything in the house. The amenities in the house were incredible. The hot tub was great, we loved the sauna, and the house was equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen. The bedrooms were so clean and fit everyone perfectly. We all slept so well, and comfortably. This house is the perfect spot for a girls weekend, a family gathering, or any other get together where you want to spend quality time with loved ones.

Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that you could possibly need was at this rental property. If you've ever stayed at a rental property before with a kitchen, you know that the kitchen is usually stocked with the bare basics gathered from a thrift store. NOT the case here! They had all the serving ware you could need, pots, pans, knives, even a kitchenaid mixer, an ice cream maker, crock pots, blenders, parchment paper, tin foil, the list goes on and on. It was amazing!. Even a whole drawer full of spices for the us to use! And that's just the kitchen the whole place was like that, from beach towels, to games, to 3 fridges, all with ice makers, 2 ovens, a 6 burner stove. It's truly impressive the lengths they went to in order to make sure their guests were well taken care of.

Staying at this lake home was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that our host had thought through every detail to make the experience next level. The attention to detail was unmatched. Everything was intentional, welcoming, and designed for comfort. The home itself is incredibly spacious, providing everyone with plenty of room to relax and enjoy, while still maintaining a warm and connected atmosphere. The amenities were the best I’ve ever experienced at a VRBO, from the kitchen setup to the little touches throughout the home; it felt like a perfect balance of luxury and thoughtfulness. The lake setting added to the magic, making it an ideal place to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the beauty all around. This was more than just a place to stay. it was an experience we will cherish and want to revisit again and again.

The Sybil Haus was amazing! The hosts thought through all aspects of what guests may need, there were ample rooms and spaces to enjoy different activities, and the communication from the hosts was prompt and welcoming. The lake was beautifully clear and quiet. The pool, sauna, and hot tub were fantastic, as well! Plenty of sleeping options and space for large families/groups to gather. The Sybil Haus and the hosts exceeded our expectations! I highly recommend this property!

We had a 5-star week at Sybil Haus vacationing with our extended family. The house is well-equipped to entertain and we felt like we had our own spa while using the pool/hot tub/sauna and all the beautiful spaces. The owners were responsive to any questions we had and any issues were quickly resolved by them or the caretaker that lived nearby and frequently checked on the pool. It rained quite a bit during our week so the only negative was that the firepit area was pretty muddy and we didn’t use it much. The beach area also is a work in progress but we enjoyed the pool most days so it wasn’t an issue for our group. They were still able to catch fish from the dock and off the boat we rented for a few days.Overall it’s an amazing place to stay and would be perfect for your larger group to spend their MN lake vacation. We enjoyed some local places - Spanky’s/Skal/Otter Coffee and several shops. Also ventured to Detroit Lakes and found lots of goodies there too.

We knew from the photos this gorgeous place was going to be awesome trip, but the photos don’t do it justice because it was so much more. Everything felt like it was designed and chosen to celebrate family and to enjoy being together. After staying here, our entire family voted to cancel next year’s vacation location as they would rather come back here every year. I guess it’s now a family tradition.
We loved everything about this house. The whole property is breathless. We spent the whole weekend in the pool and lake! Anything we could have needed was available!

Adult weekend getaway!
5 couples recently stayed at this gorgeous mansion in Vergas, Mn. It was nothing short of amazing ! All of us were looking for some rest and relaxation as we left our kids at home for some fun time together. We got that and so much more! Our favorite thing was how much space each couple had, yet we were all together…way more than any other place we’ve stayed. I don't think we turned on a TV the entire time we were there. This is a testament to how inviting the space was. Great for conversations and ample space to entertain all 10 of us. The bathrooms are amazing...not only are they beautiful, but they provide comfort not found in a 5* hotel. The steam shower and sauna were personal favorites! You can tell the owners cut zero costs when it came to providing a top quality stay for their guests. Although we were there in the winter and the pool wasn't operational, the hot tub off the deck was a perfect compliment to our stay. We spent hours in the hot tub watching the stars and looking out over the lake. I can only imagine how awesome this experience will be when the loons are calling this spring and summer! All of our friends want to come back in the summer or fall to use the pool and take advantage of the lake. I just wish we had more time to enjoy everything the property has to offer. This is one of the nicest places any of us have ever stayed. I would highly recommend this stay to any group looking for their next getaway. We left the property looking to re-book ASAP!
