Great location—literally just a block from the beach! The property was clean, comfortable, and within walking distance to everything we needed. Staying here made our time in San Diego even better, especially since it was so reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing location in San Diego—this place really delivers if you want to be close to everything. It’s definitely a no-frills motel, but it’s clean and comfortable, which is exactly what we needed. The walking distance to shops, food, and the beach made the stay super convenient. Honestly, we spent most of our time out enjoying the beach and San Diego rather than being in the room, and this was the perfect base for that. Would stay again for the location alone,

You really can’t beat the location here. It’s great if your plan is to be out exploring San Diego rather than spending time in a hotel room. The property itself is simple and provides the basics, but it is clean and well-kept. Everything is within walking distance - restaurants, shops and best yet is the beach is literally a block away. Would definitely stay here again for the convenience alone.

Stayed at Mission Beach Motel and it’s all about the location—absolutely unbeatable. You’re within walking distance to pretty much everything, which made exploring San Diego effortless. The place itself is no-frills, but it’s clean and comfortable, which is really all you need when you’re spending most of your time out enjoying the beach and the city. If you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t it—but if you want a simple, well-located spot to crash while you enjoy San Diego, it does the job perfectly.

Great value for the location. The motel is in an excellent spot with convenient access to shops, restaurants, and beachside bars. It’s just a short walk to the beach, which was perfect for the price. The rooms are older but very clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Late-night check-in was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, an affordable stay in a great location, definitely worth it. Will come back again next month. One last thing Danny was very helpful throughout our stay.

Lucky customer #1 to schedule with the new owners apparently. Cheap, close to the beach is what we saw to book. Danny was friendly and helpful with what he could, some items were out of his control for the night. Will try again once things settle down.

The best thing about this stay was the location. Couldn’t have been more perfect for the quick walk to the beach and surrounding food and drink. The room was not perfectly clean, had a bit of a smell when walking into the room, a few hairs in the sheets but the bathroom was spotless. The tv was not working properly, it would freeze after a minute of being on. Only being here a night, it was a good stay. I was only here to spend time at the beach, so I was satisfied. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

This motel is a solid hole in the wall to rest your head. It is nothing to write home about and if you’re looking for a more quality experience I’d definitely go elsewhere. But it’s right by the beach and it was quiet to stay at. It served its purpose and be sure to ask for an extra fan. There’s no AC.

TV not hooked up in room. They charge $10 for parking. I found this out when checking in. For a one night stay they charged $20 + tax for parking - $10 for the day of check in and $10 for the day we checked out. This was not disclosed in the Expedia listing.

This place is awful and nothing like the photos. It is noisy, does not have any amenities like basic things like a fridge, hairdryer etc. Toilet overflowed, shower barely worked, no wifi, asked for an extra towel and got a bath mat. It is so noisy that you can’t keep a window open but no air conditioning.

Front desk staff were helpful and friendly and the location of the property is great if you’re interested in going to the beach or checking out the local bars scene so no complaints there. The biggest reason for the low review was based solely on the state of the rooms, old, bare, and in need of a deep clean. I was actually told that they just switched management so maybe in the distant future I’ll give this place another try and hope that some updates have been made at that point. Considering the low price point, there is still some value staying here depending on your level of expectations.

Old rooms in need of an update, which is usually not an issue, however, there is no wi-fi available on the property. There are no hairdryers in the room or on the property. Room #225 had a small kitchenette, which is awesome, but the hot water from the sink next to the electric stove top in room leaked into the stove (!). Comforter had black stain. Staff was apologetic for the lack of what are pretty typical amenities even for a budget motel.

The hotel over all needs to be completely renovated. The light fixture in the bathroom fell on me when I was brushing my teeth. There was dirty linen left in the bathroom and trash in the drawers. The floors left your feet black if you actually went barefoot for a second. Like others have said, they charge you $10 a day for parking and $3 a day for “beach clean up,” we didn’t know about any of the fees beforehand. Also, there was no fridge and their ice machine was broken so you couldn’t even keep anything cold. Whether a good price or not to stay here, there has to be some kind of standard. Unfortunately they missed the mark on that.

We booked this room for the location not the amenities but we were still pretty grossed out by the first room they gave us, it had to be the worst room in the whole place, it felt like we were in another country, everything was crooked or falling off the wall, there is only 2 outlets in the whole room and not even one in the bathroom, we couldn't open the windows because of how dirty and dusty the window sills were. On day 2 our key stopped working, it wouldn't even work for the staff so they gave us another room, it was slightly better, more of what I expected from this place, it took hours from our trip waiting to get our stuff out of the other room, which we ended up going through the window to get in, we finally got our stuff, the room smelled really bad of insecticide, even when trying to sleep the smell was very strong, for that alone, I wouldn't stay here again. The next day the key stopped working again and we had to the office to get it reprogrammed. They did not offer us any compensation or discount, on the last day we even asked can you at least waive the parking fees and no they still charged us. I hate leaving bad reviews but overall not a good experience.
