I booked and paid for my room months in advance for Halloween weekend. Even though I arrived an hour after check-in, I waited over two hours for a room while multiple guests also waited.
I understand they were understaffed and simply wanted to give their guests a clean room, but what was unacceptable was the handling of the situation afterwards. The front desk agent assured me, twice, that I would receive a discount for the delay, and I even saw her document it for her manager. However, when I followed up days later, the assistant manager rudely denied any form of refund or discount. It is extremely unprofessional to guarantee a refund like this in person and later not only back out on it but do so in an ill-mannered way. I understand that the front desk may not have the authority to give me a discount, but they should not guarantee something they cannot deliver. This entire situation could have been resolved or even avoided if they were better prepared for a weekend they knew was fully booked. Most unprofessional place I have ever stayed at.
