The breakfast is very poor, not up to par with a hotel of the category or rating indicated in its advertising. The way the stay in the dining room is cut off is unpleasant and it is also unpleasant to have to put the wrapper or the bag where the breakfast is delivered as a plate. There is not even a plate or other eating utensils. In addition, knocking on the room door and calling by phone minutes before lcheck off the room is also very unpleasant.. In all the hotels I have been to they do not do these actions.

The neighborhood felt unsafe after dark. I understand there’s nothing The Priory can do about that but perception is reality. We loved the hotel: our room was very comfortable, towels were thick and luxurious and we enjoyed the patio for an evening cocktail and morning coffee.

Really liked the hotel and convenience to downtown and other museums. The neighborhood at night is a little sketchy as there are some run down homes/businesses nearby. The front desk staff were above and beyond friendly and made me feel welcome.

Michael, the bartender was great!! Very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was an issue. We ordered for 8:30am. We waited until 9:00. We said something and they didn’t make our order a priority after making the mistake. I left some clothing in the room and they called me immediately to shop it to my home. Thank you for that!

Wonderful hotel

Beautiful building, room felt luxurious. Very clean. Breakfast is a little weird. You order it the night before and then you pick it up in a shopping bag at a chosen time in a room with tables and chairs, but it's not a dining room, really. There's no serving people there. But the food was good enough. Anyway, we have no trips planned, but I would stay there again.

Not what you see on the web

If you look at the pictures on the hotel website, or check the Deutschtown website you'll see that the neighborhood is very different when you arrive. Most shops are closed, there is trash everywhere, and you will not feel comfortable walking anywhere.

It's all about the Monk

Wonderful front desk staff and the Monk Bar was a fun surprise. We enjoyed a fabulous hand-crafted cocktail and the bartender's music selection before heading out for the evening. Breakfast was to-go style but there is a comfortable dining area to enjoy if you prefer to not take it to your room or to wherever you are going. Very walkable location. It was cold when we were there, but the outdoor patio area looks very inviting for next time.

Lovely vintage property

We really enjoyed our stay at The Priory Hotel. The building is charming and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast was very good. The room was a little dated, but it was large and had everything we needed. The bathroom is very small, as is to be expected in an old hotel. Everything was exceptionally clean. The neighborhood was slightly sketchier than expected, but not a problem, and it's close to the highway and downtown, as well as North Shore sights. There are two parking lots hotel guests can use; the only time we had a problem finding a spot was when there was an event at the connected event space on Saturday night. I highly recommend the hotel.

Priory stay.

Clean and spacious room. Check-in quick and easy. Crappy tiny TV. Parking free which was unusual for city hotel. Would stay here again.

We arrived in the middle of the night with plans to leave early in the morning. No one was around except the very pleasant woman checking us in. This is a charming place with a bed & breakfast type feel. The bathroom / shower was modern. We were delighted to receive our pre-ordered bagged breakfast to go (croissant sandwiches) when we checked out.

Stayed here before and once again we are extremely pleased with the Priory! Friendly and professional staff, lovely and pristine rooms, very comfortable bed and pillows, and the breakfast is good too! They also have a free shuttle service, which is so convenient! Cant say enough great things about the Priory!!!

Such a unique place to stay! It’s a former monastery and much of the architecture and decor is preserved. It’s across from a busy area that was kind of noisy but we had a room on the ground floor facing the street. Very comfortable for our 1 night stay!

The Priory is a Hidden Treasure!

Our 3 night stay was our first visit but won't be our last. Michael is an outstanding bartender and attracted hotel guests as well as locals for a fun time. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. It's an easy walk to a couple of terrific restaurants on East Ohio Street.

Beautiful historic, very clean and well cared for. Best staff, impeccable service. The excellence and charm of the property makes up for the location - a more secluded street that feels a bit unsafe. We had no issues. Cars should be parked in the hotel’s lot. They have surveillance over their lots. The receptionist and staff were A and ensured we had a wonderful stay.
