Charming Rustic Retreat with a Garden Paradise Backyard

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy, rustic-style home that felt like a true escape. The house itself has a warm, older charm with all the modern conveniences—everything we needed was thoughtfully provided, from kitchen essentials to a great grill for outdoor meals. But the real highlight was the backyard: an absolutely immaculate, lush oasis bursting with flowers, palms, and vibrant greenery. It felt like stepping into a private botanical garden. Perfect for relaxing mornings with coffee or quiet evenings under the stars. The pool was clean and well maintained also. We enjoyed lounging and playing volleyball in it. The home owners were extremely communicative and provided all check-in/check-out instructions well in advance. Couldn't have been happier with our stay here! A truly peaceful and memorable getaway!

We made juice from the citrus trees, We discovered new plants and even found 3 hummingbird nests. Standing by the pool in the evening smelling the beautiful aroma of the citrus blossoms .The master bed was so comfortable and the sheets were so soft. The kitchen is over the top well equipped, and there are more than enough towels , and bedding. Owners were super responsive when we had questions. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful oasis in the desert!

We booked this house during Arizona Bike Week for four couples. Walking in, the love that went into this house is apparent! There are many antiques and artwork that adorn every room. The books on all the shelves begged to be looked at!The backyard and patio is what caught our attention. There are two arcadia doors that open to the patio at the back part of the house. The patio is huge and the pool is just steps away. It was too cold to use, but we will be back during the summer!The backyard was my happy place. I counted at least 24 fruit trees, mature mesquite and others and flowering plants all over. Finding a place like this in the desert is truly an experience! I went "foraging" for fruits each day we were here.There are a few things to note - this is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. For four non-related couples, it was tight. It would be better suited for three non-related couples at most. Think about bathroom situation.The kitchen is tight for more than two people - but I'm good at kicking people out while I cook. Kitchen appliances and everything you could want are there. Spices included!The house is close to a busy street. Use the provided white noise machines. Traffic does minimize to almost nothing as the night progresses.The owner was super responsive to questions! I asked a ton about the trees and gardening experience in the desert. We highly recommend staying here, especially if you want to experience what it's like to have a grove of personal fruit trees.

Wonderful House! Wonderful Hosts!

I had to go to Phoenix for surgery, so the Desert Oasis was truly that for my family. From the fruit trees in the back yard, the beautiful inside and how wonderful the hosts are; everything was perfect for my healing journey. Anytime I needed anything, they were patient and so wonderful with us. A zero gravity chair and an instant pot were no problem! Great people! Great experience!

A perfect stay

The perfect house to host my parents in Arizona! It had everything we needed to cook meals, plenty of room for us to spread out, and I can't say enough about the backyard. The pool is incredible, the sauna is fun, but my dog loved roaming and exploring the fruit trees for hours. I will definitely stay again!!!

10 Stars!

This property is definitely one of a kind and not to be missed! Inside and out, it is impeccably clean and well stocked. We had our coffee outside every morning, used the sauna every day and then again in the evening had Happy Hour outside selecting a different seating area each time! The day we arrived, it was just after dark and someone had lit the outdoors like a magical wonderland… Magnificent! Indoors is the same with seating areas absolutely everywhere, beautiful lighting and an incredible book collection. The cookbooks, novels and travel guides were amazing; we spent a good deal of time reading and relaxing. I could go on and on but you need to check this out yourself! This is a 10 STAR property we will return to! Many thanks to our great hosts Susan and David for sharing this extraordinary property!

What an amazing property!

David & Susan have an incredible property. What a GEM of a spot! We loved the back patio, the garden which was plentiful of delicious fruit, and full of amazing succulents and various types of cacti'. Amazing! The rooms and interior were excellent as well. David & Susan were incredibly nice to offer us an early Check-In, when I detailed that we would be in the area earlier than normal. They tried their best leading up, and were able to come through. That was incredibly nice of them. In fact, they re-reached out to us to relay the good news, which tells us that the request was taken sincerely, rather than just a brush off as most people would do. I would stay at this property any time I am lucky to be in Scottsdale again, which I hope is in the very near future. A+++++ to David, Susan, and this wonderful property!

Wonderful visit

My family and I decided to rent a property in Phoenix because I was going to be the best man for my best friends wedding, we picked this house because it looked very nice, and it did not disappoint the house was very clean and had plenty of interesting things to see if you're a reader plenty of books, however the back yard is the highlight in my opinion it is absolutely beautiful to sit out back and have dinner with family there are gorgeous fruit trees and a well kept pool and even a sauna (we didn't use the sauna but it looked very nice) either way it was a wonderful stay and plenty of space for the family

Beautiful property.

My husband and some friends of ours enjoyed our stay at this desert oasis. The home is so quirky and fun! We wished we were staying longer so we could read a few of the many interesting books that were displayed so wonderfully. Cool antique furniture inside and out, beautifully appointed outside space…including a pool, ( too cool to swim in March) potted succulents, cacti, flowers and a magical citrus orchard with fruit, ripe for the picking!
