Our room was very dirty. Under the beds were awful… we found other people sandals. Cobwebs in ceiling. Toilet rug disgusting. Not toilet paper provided. Swimming pool in poor condition .Water wasn’t clear. We couldn’t use it. Chickens around the garden all the time and droppings around our room and pool. Very noisy at night with many roosters around. Well overrated for the service they provide.

Not just a place to sleep for the night!

It was perfect! Hosts were extremely helpful kind knowledgeable and accommodating! We booked at the last minute and they really helped to make it all come together for us! Even had time for a swim in the pool and left with wisdom from the elders! Mahalo Nui Loa!

Wonderful room. Excellent value for the price. But by far the best thing about the is property is the wonderful property owners. Do yourself a favor, stay here and take an opportunity to meet the family.

Needs work. Holes in the walls in the closet, definitely not a good stay. Nice people but the grounds are really rough. It served the purpose of a stay overnight until we checked into our other hotel.

The property is simple and clean. And its best amenity is the filtered water swimming pool & super convenient location. But its personnel are the highlight: Jaze, Mere, and Vairea, who run the front desk and attend to all the amenities, always with a smile and good cheer, always helpful, and always available. The property also offers very affordable car rental to explore the island as well. And the owner himself will take you to the airport (for a mere $20) at whatever hour you need to go, even 4 a.m.!

Don't venture out after dark as there is no lighting from the main road, down the alleyway and on to the property. Also, the area is very rundown and the homeless roam free.

Tucked down a suburban alleyway between a petrol station and a supermarket, Tea Tahiti is an unpretentious guesthouse, but it has everything you need – walking distance from the port and city centre; friendly, helpful staff; simply decorated rooms with air conditioning, comfortable beds, ensuite bathroom, fridge, microwave, kettle and utensils; outdoor furniture and a swimming pool; onsite car hire and transfers. Our airport transfer for a 4am flight was no problem and reasonably priced. On the downside, the view is of neighbouring buildings and the car yard, reception has limited hours, and the gardens are not very well established. But with the occasional dogs barking, geckos chirping, the rooster crowing and the chickens pecking round our feet as we sat by the pool, it felt like an authentic slice of Tahitian life.

The staff is what made it special. We had electrical problems but they let us use another room’s kitchen until it was fixed. They have snorkels to borrow and other beach toys. The pool is very nice. Our balcony was great where we spent most of our room time.
