I just want to start this review off by saying that the condo itsself is absolutely beautiful. The furnishings are very nice, everything you need for your stay is there, and the unit is very spacious for a 1 bedroom.
The unit is located directly above the pool. This unit is in tower 3 across the street from the beach. There is still a small view of the gulf across the street from the balcony, but not directly beachfront, which was perfectly fine for us.
Now with that being said, there were several things extremely concerning about our stay, and as much as we absolutely loved the unit itsself, I don’t know if we would ever rent here again. I try to be patient when it comes to vacation rentals and reviews, as I work in the property management industry and travel weekly, and have been on the “opposite side”, but situations just seemed to get worse, the longer we were here.
First and foremost, I feel that there was a communication barrier with RealJoy vacations, which is who we rented from through VRBO. I felt like nothing was explained prior to arrival. Could this have been because we scheduled 9 days prior to arrival? Possibly. I followed all email directions, and still felt unsure of what I needed to do upon arriving at the property. Their “text” for help number got us squared away and sent our parking info over, but I had to keep reaching out to them to figure things out.
Once we arrived, it went downhill fast. Parking barcode wouldn’t work and we had to search the area for someone to help us get in. The AC was broken and read 87 degrees, so for about 4 hours it was scorching hot and took forever to cool down (maintenance guy was great, though). The toilet was clogged upon arrival with no plunger in the unit, so we had to go buy one. There was blue koolaid all over the fridge and freezer and cabinets...but our biggest issue was that the staff that was onsite seemed to harass us the entire time about wristbands and rules. Half the gates weren’t opened so it was like a maze going anywhere. We had a gentleman doing interviews poolside that accused of of not being guests because our wristbands were the wrong color, but they were the ones left for us on arrival. It just seemed very disorganized and chaotic. As much as we LOVED the unit, I don’t know if we’d stay again, which is unfortunate because we visit PCB 4-5 times a year and try to always rent the same place, and were hoping this could be our new “go to”.
