We were extremely disappointed with this rental. From the second night onward, the smoke detectors started going off and continued to malfunction until Monday. We contacted the property, and while Terry the maintenance man was very helpful and did his best (including replacing all the smoke detectors and fixing a broken toilet seat and loose tank in the second bathroom), the issues went far beyond what one person could fix.The overall condition of the home was poor. Every window still had storm panes in place, making it impossible to open them for fresh air. The sliding door screen was broken. The split A/C unit was completely inadequate for cooling the kitchen, dining, and living areas — we had to dig a fan out of a closet and use it constantly just to stay somewhat comfortable.The trash was only picked up once during our stay. There were just two ice trays in the freezer. The vacuum left in the home was completely full of disgusting debris — clearly it hadn’t been emptied or cleaned in a very long time, which made us question the overall cleanliness and care of the property.It honestly felt like the rental hadn’t even been dewinterized before our stay. Between the storm windows still being on and the general state of disuse, it seemed like no one had stayed there — or properly prepared the house — for months. It’s obvious this rental isn’t used or maintained often, and it shows. I was hesitant to book for the lack of review and now I know why.
