This property was spacious and conveniently located. Those are the only positive things I will say about this rental experience.
I am a veteran educator with a masters degree and over 10 years experience renting properties with VRBO and other vacation renta. My reviews from all those rental experiences have been without blemish. Look them up for yourself. After leaving this rental location, the owner sent me a message accusing me of “ransacking” the property.
The owner states that I “utilized several provisions for the owners” from the walk in closet. This walk-in closet (which had no door) had a cardboard box inside it that contained a pack of toilet paper. There was no note or label indicating the contents were only for the owners. So admittedly we used this toilet paper. AND THEN BOUGHT MORE TO REPLACE IT.
The owner states living room blinds were “taken down.” Two vertical blinds fell off upon our arrival when we opened the blinds to access the pool. Apparently we shouldn’t have attempted to access the pool at all. Anyone have suggestions on how to access a pool which is on the other side of sliding doors without opening the vertical blinds? I’m open to suggestions. By the way, WE ALSO REPLACED THE FALLEN BLINDS.
After our departure on April 7th, the owner’s message stated that we left the carpet “soiled in several areas which required deep cleaning of the carpet.” The carpets were thoroughly stained when we arrived. The other 5 family members that stayed with me can and will vouch for the fact that the carpets were stained before we arrived. The carpets were stained so much that, when we arrived on April 1st, I shared on social media that there would be no photos of our vacation rental because it was a dump. So either tenants before us soiled the carpets and their cleaning service failed to tell the owners OR the owners want me to pay for deep cleaning carpets that we did not stain.
In addition, when we arrived the ceiling fan was on high and swinging so precariously that it appeared ready to disconnect and fly across the room. There were no lounge chairs around the pool; we had to purchase our own or lay on the cement. The toilets required plunging every other time in order to properly flush. And, while the renter advertises that the house sleeps 6 people, the dinner table had only 3 chairs. So, yes, you can sleep 6 here. Just don’t plan on eating meals together.
I have reported this owner to Be Neighborly, the division of VRBO that deal
