"We’ve stayed here on and off for many years, it’s been okay! We were so happy to hear that the rooms have been remodeled and we were thrilled! Come to find out the first floor, dog rooms were not, only the upstairs rooms have been done. We feel the dog room rates are too much considering nothing changed in those rooms, they’ve increased quite a bit! I would recommend each lower patio have a small fence with a gate. We ended up not having our dog, but we could not escape the uncontrolled dogs out running all the time! They would not leave us alone! We have never experienced uncontrolled dogs like this before, but it’s been this way the last couple of times we’ve been (this last time, so much worse). One other thing I’d like to address is the parking, it is now a nightly rate above staying. They have their own lot, perfectly accommodating for all rooms as it always was, so why do they need to make more money on the crappy blacktop lot! If they are so concerned about beach goers parking there, stick with parking passes and actually tow ones without! It’s too bad they are the only hotel in that area that allow pets, which is the only reason we’ve always stayed here. We will be leaving our pet at home from now on so we can go stay at the other, nicer hotels at about the same rate as here."

"first I bought 2 suites for my daughter's graduation. then on arrival they separated us to two different sides of hotel. one room with balcony faced all the air conditioning on top of joining building. disgusting view with loud units. The furniture has stains and wear. the sliding bath door was hanging at end not properly closing. It had water damage at edge. water pressure in one room would only go hot. The pool being at a Hardrock was only 4 ft deep and small. ( they throw pool parties there) Very little arrival parking area. The tile is delaminating from concrete throughout the hotel. loose tiles. I felt ripped off for money we spent on 2 rooms. As for the area. can't go a block with crazy amount of homeless which some harassed my daughter and boyfriend. stunk like pee everywhere . San Diego is letting down its tourists and residents big-time. so much I won't go back. dirty city. the next LA"
