Barely adequate

The place is okay. Building is old and fixtures are very cheap. Owner left bare minimum essentials for our stay. Also said there would be water but there wasn't any. Location was good.

Exactly what we needed

We had a very comfortable stay at Orange Oasis. The location was near a friendly corner market and a small grocery and book store. We didn't spend time in the apartment during the day so we didn't take advantage of of the many windows that let in nice autumn light. Check in was easy, verything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen is pretty bare-bones and there isn't a lot of extra "stuff" around so if we were planning to do a lot of cooking or hoping to play games and read books that were in the house we might have been disappointed but as it was we were very happy here for a couple of days while visiting family.

Nice enough place, lacked some coziness

My stay here was good enough for what I needed, which was a place to hang out with my friends while getting ready for an event in New Haven. The living area is in a separate room away from the kitchen/dining area, just keep that in mind if you're planning to hang out with a group. The beds were very comfortable, as previous reviews have mentioned! Location couldn't be better -- right in the heart of East Rock, walking distance to a couple coffee shops and anywhere you wish to within Yale or downtown. Everything was mostly clean... I have cleaning standards that are higher than most, so take this with a grain of salt. The sponges in the kitchen sink looked old and there were smudges on the plastic drink cups (glass would nicer, if possible). The fridge smelled a tiny bit and looked like it wasn't thoroughly cleaned between visits. The bedrooms had a stark appearance, with almost no decorations. It would be nice to have more surfaces to place things on other than a single tiny bedside table. The host, Henry, was communicative through automated text messages that were quite long, but the extra info came in handy. If you are looking for a prime location spot, this place gets the job done. If you want a cozy home-like experience that is conducive to relaxing and hanging out, then you may want to keep looking.

Clean, Comfortable and Close to Everything

Had an enjoyable overnight stay while visiting family in the area. Communication was excellent, home was pristinely clean and we felt very safe. Walked down the street to a lovely coffee shop when we arrived. Could have walked to dinner on State Street but "nonsensible shoes" made us opt for a drive! Comfortable beds and luxurious towels. Cozy parlor sitting area. No kettle for you tea drinkers, but coffee and condiments aplenty! Highly recommend!

Clean, Spacious and Light!

WOW. If a 5-star hotel offered whole apartments, this would be it. Immaculate. Peaceful. Sun-lit, Uncluttered, Easy. There’s a grassy field outside, you can lie on a blanket and watch the autumn leaves fall. Also, memory foam mattresses… not too soft, Just right. Very happy.

Spacious, comfortable apartment in the heart of East Rock

We stayed in this spacious, very clean and comfortable apartment during Yale graduation 2022. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. The neighborhood is great. There are super cute markets, coffee shops, and cafes within easy walking distance. Sometimes we walked to campus but otherwise it was an easy Uber ride. Our host, Henry, couldn’t have been more helpful and was available at any moment throughout our stay. This is a great place to stay when visiting Yale.

Great stay

The apartment was terrific- great location, spacious and airy and Henry was so quick to reply when we had questions! Close to campus - 2 minutes to the SOM and 10 min to Phelps Gate, so really convenient.
