The Space:
Morning light filters through tall windows, filling the cabin with the fresh scent of pine and the gentle chorus of songbirds. You step onto a deck strung with soft lights, feeling a mild breeze carry the promise of blooming wildflowers. Inside, the pellet‑stove fireplace offers a warm glow for cool evenings, while the hot tub steams invitingly under a sky that shifts from soft pink to deep blue. This mountain retreat invites you to slow down, gather, and enjoy the quiet rhythm of spring in the Shenandoah Valley.
Sleeping arrangements
Four bedrooms accommodate up to ten guests. One bedroom features a double bed. Two bedrooms each contain twin‑over‑queen bunk beds, perfect for families or mixed‑age groups. The fourth bedroom offers two twin beds. All linens, extra pillows, and blankets are provided for comfort during cooler nights.
Bathrooms
A newly renovated full bathroom and an additional half bath upstairs serve guests. Bathroom essentials are supplied for convenience.
Kitchen & dining
The fully equipped kitchen provides ample counter space and a dining area where you can share meals after a day of exploring. A BBQ grill on the deck makes outdoor cooking easy, and the open layout encourages conversation over coffee or a hearty breakfast.
Outdoor living
A large deck wrapped in string lighting overlooks a grassy backyard that, while not fully fenced, includes a children’s play area and space for games when the weather permits. The hot tub remains a favorite for unwinding after a hike, and the fire pit with surrounding seating invites evenings of s’mores and storytelling under the stars.
Workspace & connectivity
A dedicated workspace in a private room offers a quiet spot for work or study. Smart TV and Wi‑Fi are available throughout the cabin, though speeds may vary due to the remote setting—downloading essential content ahead of time is recommended.
Neighborhood
The cabin sits a short drive from the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, offering scenic trails that burst with new green growth. Bryce Resort is about twenty minutes away, providing seasonal activities, dining, and local shops.

Families, friends, and small groups seeking a pet‑friendly mountain escape will find room to spread out, reconnect, and enjoy a quieter pace. Whether you gather around the pellet‑stove, soak in the hot tub on a crisp evening, or explore nearby forests, Hummingbird Ridge offers a comfortable base for a memorable Shenandoah Valley getaway.

You can not beat the tranquility of this secluded spot in the mountains. And the owner's communication was fast and efficient. The bed was super comfy and the view of the stars at night was sublime. I enjoyed my stay very much.

It Is What IT IS.
It was surprising what the cabin did and did not have. It was better than most as far as cookware, kitchen supplies, shower supplies and so forth.
It was under supplied in tea towels (for a week of cooking), electrical outlets near mirrors (to style one's hair - no outlet in the bathroom) and no dresser, closet or even a luggage rack in the smallest bedroom. Linens were nice.
We enjoyed use of the deck grill, fire pit and hot tub and grilled and cooked daily.
It is pet friendly but no gates are on the porch. They say to bring your own baby gates (2) which we do not have. I would've rented 2 if they made that an option.
We had a blast zip line riding and my 10 year old grandson could not stop taking pics at Luray Caverns. Fantastic place.
My favorite pants badly snagged on a rough spot on the deck .
Some safety issues exist. The steps up from the driveway to the deck steps are unsafe and steep. We are retired, not young, and my husband has 2 ribs still healing from a past injury. He had to drag two ice chests and one large suitcase up those unsteady steps to the deck steps.
The lose stepping stones up to the hot tub are dangerous for children and adults.
The deck around the hot tub is to narrow to safely uncover and cover the tub. Narrow deck exists at the tub entry.
Two chairs were broken. The rocking chair inside; we reported quickly. It was not repaired during our stay. A lovely wooden deck chair was also falling apart.
The shower curtain is hung to low and drags on the shower floor. Another fall risk .
We will return to the area one autumn; when my youngest grandchild is big enough to zip line on Mamma Bear. They will want to see Luray Cavern again. We will look for a different cabin. A safer one.

Nice Chalet in convenient location
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was bigger than expected and the rooms were nice. Communication with the owner was easy. The hot tub was an added bonus. AND, the firepit in back was nicely setup.

A very cozy cabin
Perfect if you have a group of friends that just need an escape. The cabin is great, the fire pit is very nice, and it’s secluded enough where you have a sense of privacy.
