We enjoyed our stay at the White Pine Lodge. The staff was EXCELLENT! Everyone was so nice and treated us like guests. Our room was clean and everything in proper working order. The only disappointment was the breakfast but I understood the rationale. No waffles but since they were closing in seven days they couldn’t justify the expense of a large amount of batter that wouldn’t get used. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

All in all, it was a satisfactory stay. The exception would be the check-in process. Check-in was listed as 3:00 PM on my reservation sheet. I tried to check-in at that time and was told check-in was not until 4:00 PM. The desk clerk told me they had been trying to get Expedia to change the check-in time to 4:00 PM, to no avail. Who is at fault, is anybody's guess. The desk clerk was not friendly and seemed to be stressed.

The area is completely safe, no bugs in the rooms, the staff is immensely friend, but it's not the cleanest place I've ever stayed. It wasn't unsanitary, but the corners of the bathroom floors could stand a mopping, and the rugs could be shampooed.

The manager was cleaning all rooms by herself because of lack of help. We felt badly for her. The toilet ran all night and the lights over the vanity were so bright they could have guided a 747 in to land.
