Family vacation

Our grandchildren and grandchildren, all got together with us for a short stay it was wonderful love the area. The house was beautiful. There were lots of mosquitoes, but that’s life in Illinois. Thank you so much for the hospitality. Communication was amazing.

Very Unfortunate

Hands down the worst rental experience I've had in my adult life. It's too bad because the property is absolutely beautiful. And honestly the host is lovely. It just was not a good situation for us at all. There is too much to type here. Unfortunately, we were hoping for a place of rest and this just wasn't that. Screaming, dogs barking. A week long roof replacement. We had to leave early... Without a full refund. Wouldn't book again.

Amazing stay!!

This house was exceptional! From the price, to the amount of bedrooms/space, to the distance/Location, amenities, the exceptionally Large backyard, even down to having enough parking for our cars – my Large family and I greatly appreciate finding this gem and had a great weekend! We are saving this home as a favorite for our future family gatherings. Although we didn’t use the paddle boat, our 1-year-old babies to our 85-year-old grandparents had a blast! A Walmart only being a 10-minute drive away, was also very convenient. Thank you Marcie for loaning your home to us without any issues this past weekend! So sweet.

Kids had a great time

Kids were disappointed there were no fish in the pond but they enjoyed the kayak and paddle boat. They also loved the electric bikes. House is stately for sure. So many rooms you could get lost. Huge master suite!! Definitely big enough for our family get together.

Family time together

We were blessed with beautiful weather to enjoy all of the outdoor space and activities that this beautiful home offers. The grandkids enjoyed the paddle boat, kayaks,catching frogs in the frog pond, swimming, and fishing from the dock. The golf cart was perfect for them to explore the paths in the woods and to ride on the long driveway. The house is very spread out so we never seemed to be on top of each other. The outside seating provided a variety of options. The gazebo with the fireplace was a favorite place for the older kids to set and eat. I enjoyed the front gazebo with the beautiful view! We took a large amount of food to cook with and never left the place except to go to church. PS. The owner is a fantastic artist!!!

The property is a gem. We wished the weather was better so we could enjoy time outside however the briskness of fall had arrived. We were constrained to the inside of the house which is very artistic with an interesting layout. The house was a bit tricky for the amount of guests we had for privacy. There were about 10 of us however two of the bathrooms did not have doors. Although these bathrooms have an extremely beautiful views, the missing doors were an issue. The only other problem were all the rugs. We have some seniors in our group and the shag rugs were causing some tripping. We placed some of the rugs on the side while we had our stay. Not a big deal. The only other issue or improvement we had were last minute instructions on what to do with our laundry and dishes etc..I wished she had left those "to do" on the instructions for the house upon arrival instead of given the morning of departure. Luckily we already accomplished those tasks so it was not an issue for timing. Even with these minor troubles, we had an enjoyable time in this home. It is on a magnificent piece of property. We have memories and stories that will last a lifetime and for that, we are extremely grateful.

Great for a large group!

Excellently stocked kitchen, the best by far in any rental we've stayed to date! We are a large group of friends who get together once a year to hang out, cook, and craft together, so this house was extremely well-suited to us. Lovely grounds, spacious bedrooms, and very communicative host! I recommend this location to any large group. As a note, the house is very open-concept and sound travels easily from bottom to top - just a note in case travelling with sensitive sleepers!

2023 Family Vacation

My three sons and their families made some great memories on this trip. The property is absolutely beautiful and the home is amazing! The kids really enjoyed the frog pond, secret room, exploring the spacious house and property. Marci made us feel welcome and right at home.

Great House for Big Group

We had a group of 14 and loved the house and property. It was bigger than we imagined and filled with wonderful touches. Great kitchen, grill and outdoor spaces. We were so happy that did not leave for the entire 3 days of our booking.

Family Reunion

We had a wonderful time staying on this property. The house provided us with many activities to do, from driving the golf cart, hiking on the trails, riding the electrical bike, kayaking, paddle boating and even fishing! The lay out of the house is very open, which great for gathering but harder for sleeping since the noise carries over. It was easy to communicate with Marcie and she was readily available to answers all of our questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Property for a Fun Weekend

The property had an excellent space for yard games and spending time outside whether in the gazebo, on the large porch, or in the yard. The large house allowed my group to all spend time either in the kitchen/dining room or various living rooms on each floor.

28 acres of beautiful property

Everything you need to have a wonderful stay. House is a one of a kind layout. Many unique rooms on different levels. Several gazebos outside are very comfortable to sit back and relax Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Wonderful place

Large spacious home with all you need to be comfortable, with beautiful outdoor surroundings. Having a place for the dogs to run and play and be contained and safe was so wonderful. Host is very kind and easy to communicate with. Surrounding towns within reasonable driving distance. One of the nicest places we have stayed!

Unique Getaway

We stayed here for a weekend away with friends. The house is huge - so much space and so many comfortable beds to accommodate our large group. Excellent property for outdoor activities and even better setup if you want to bring your dog. Huge fenced in dog run and garage for pups to have their own vacation!

I would highly recommend this gorgeous property for a group. There is lots of outdoor area to explore. Only 90 minutes from downtown Chicago. Marcie was a lovely host with great communication.
